Rod :( I am not an engine builder but here is my understanding. Wrist pin below the piston came out and allowed the rod to bang around and eat up the cylinder.
So I may be able to resleeve the cylinder and replace piston. Don't know about that in a road race motor so maybe it becomes a street motor or boat anchor.
Buy a new block and one piston.
Buy a cutout or rebuilt shortblock.
Decisions Decisions.

completely different engine with an iron block, but...
when i got my car #8 was balled up into a nice oily & sparkly mess. That cylinder was even cracked but in the middle of the bore, not at bottom or top which would have prevented re-use. That cylinder was sleeved and used a new piston & another used con-rod.
2.5 hpde/race seasons, so far so good.
