we have been given (for now) the entire block of row D and E spaces 1-12 on each row. of the upper paddock. there is nothing onthe left of spaces 1 (fence?). there is a road on 3 sides of the block we have. we have this whole block. see attached pit tracker. this is just to account for the spaces, not assigned spaces. i'll update it here as people confirm paid spaces.

when you pay for a space or 2, wait to be contaced by NASA Nats folks via email. takes a day or so. let them know you want to be w/ the AI/CMC TX folks.

Deadline for reservations/commitment/online payment extended to Sunday May 27th due to high demand!

We've got room to grow...so if we take all 24 spaces we can take another row.

It looks like the California AI/CMC folks will likely have ~10...so that could leave us with more available space on that upper paddock side. The way we're going now, that whole side of the upper paddock may be AI/CMC, with "Texas City" just south of it!

Once the spots are bought and paid for we can layout the cars however we'd like so it's functional and looks great too! I'm looking into one of these. Who's in??? Potential sponsors? :D

(Maybe we could sell 2005 & 2006 Season Recap DVD's in the paddock to pay for the tent. )

I'm serious about the Texas Tent idea and requested price quotes tonight online. We'll see where it goes.

I'd gladly chip in for the copies I have!

With that tent I'd be able to find the gang for sure! What a great idea Todd!

Not to be a jerk, but we really want to have thoroughbred cars in the AI/CMC paddock area.

So, Todd - are you trying to make the RM folks go somewhere else? :?

-chris

Absolutely not, Chris. Actually quite the opposite. I'm working with the other regional AI/CMC directors to coordinate getting all of the AI/CMC cars in that general vicinity. What you're seeing here is the Texas coordination aspect. We'll try to get all of our folks "under one tent" ...and the other AI/CMC series directors are trying to do the same. In the end, Peder Beckman (AI Race Director) and I (CMC Race Director) will work with Bryan Cohn so he only has to worry about 2 people instead of 102 to get this AI/CMC paddock coordinated.

Think of the AI/CMC area as a carnival...and Texas will have the best ride/booth/attraction in the carnival!!!

In fact, from notes I've gotten from Dave Balingit....he's trying to organize a RM paddock area...but will be parking his personal CMC car with us...in order to really strengthen the AI/CMC breed in the Nationals paddock!

Thanks for understanding guys! There's nothing I want more than Kevin Mixon in our pits! His expertise and experience is awesome to be able to bounce stuff off of (wish I did more of that last year!) Even better if Kevin were to race with us in...say...in an AIX Mustang!?!?!? ...but for now, we're really trying to keep this paddock area AI/CMC only.

Add Daron and I to the list. We will make the trip to Nationals and campaign a single car and would definitely appreciate the paddock space. Let me know what to send where and thanks!

I reserved a 20x80 spot because it would not let me reserve 4 10x20's (which was cheaper). I only really need three 10x20's so if anyone needs any extra space???? Would really like to hang out with AI CMC Texas RM if at all possible. If the margarita machine is not going to make it (Boudy)let me know. I will purchase a stihl and produce our own cool refreshing beverages.

DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS EXTENDED UNTIL JUNE 1.
This will be the final deadline to commit/pay for a paved paddock spot.

Here's an update of what's been going on:

+Many of the Calif. AI/CMC folks are getting trackside garages. As such, there'll likely only be a handful of them. I haven't received an update from the other regional AI/CMC directors just yet.

+Bringing our own "Texas Big Top" tent is going to be difficult as Mid-O has a sole source contract for their facility tents. I've got the contact info for them and will see what we can and can't do.

We'll work this further this week with Omar, the Tent Maker and Bryan, the National Competition Director. 8)

We'll try to post something out there this week on the paddock.
Matt...I've spoken to Bryan and he has your reservation.
I was hoping to work this a bit today, but got caught up with my car.

NASA has a folder with all the AI/CMC paddock reservations and we'll sketch out we're at in a bit.

Yup...I have more info.
The NASA forums will be posting a paddock map later this week.
Our paddock area is full and named "Texas AI/CMC" (even though folks from Calif/RM/OH have paid to paddock with us.

Tents are pricey...very pricey.
I have a potential big-top tent sponsor....but he's only currently at a discounted purchase price...I'm seeking "free"...so negotiations continue.

I'll post the list of our paid paved paddock racers shortly.

The big squares labeled Estes/Carpenter, Hamilton, Jeu and Perry are all Texas SM's. Bryan asked me if we were going to stage a re-enactment of the Alamo and I told him no- The battle of the North and the South on track- with all of the trophies being in the upper paddock this year!

I'll be flying in on Sunday Sept. 9th and must have feet on the ground at the track by 4pm Sunday. We will be setting out cones in the paddocks labeled with your group name. We are only going to mark off the outer corners- it is up to the group parked within to work out how everyone is going to fit. Bryan and I will be buzzing around the track helping people park so if you get there and have any questions or need any help- give me a ring on my cell phone. BTW- Bryan asked me to get the word out that the best way to reach him is through his direct email which is bcohn (at) drivenasa (dot) com. Sometimes he gets the PM's through the website and sometimes not. Also, feel free to email me if you need anything and are having issues getting ahold of Bryan. My direct email is racebrat (at) charter (dot) net.

This is going to be so great and I can't wait to see everyone in M-O!!

How is it different than EZ ups etc?
We really just need to rent anchoring for it.
