Subject: GRMCC Closure

Greetings:

It is with great sadness that I must be a realist and inform you of an
end to a story. As hard as we tried for over three years, the GunterRing
Motorsport Country Club will not become a reality at this time. You were
on my e-mail list of contacts, either as a respondent to the web page, or
through some other promotional which we did, and it is only polite to let
you know we are not going forward with the project at this time.

In the end, despite the great relationship I enjoy with the Panoz
organization, major oil, additive, tire and parts suppliers, we could not
continue in an economically uncertain environment, where these backers
were hesitant at supporting us, and the board of directors voted no
confidence in going forward with the current management staff, without
this economic backing and strength. So, they wisely decided to return
the project to become a housing development, to satisfy the investments
of the investors - so all is not a loss.

I am also thankful for the great relationship I enjoy with John Zouzelka,
AB Jones and Brian Shibley, from this board of directors, and look
forward to other possible motorsport country club attempts in the future.

The GRMCC web pages are all closed, and I will be closing this e-mail
address, once this letter is sent to all. If you have any questions,
please don't hesitate posting me at my normal e-mail address of
<jebby914@juno.com>, and if you do, then remind me that you were
contacted by me regarding the GRMCC project (that will jog my memory :).

Sorry this had to come to an end like this, and I hope to see you at an event soon.

I was really hoping for the Gunterring track... it would have been pretty close for me.

Someone should contact Oakhill.
We need a Hallett closer to us.
Corey?

Oakhill is just a skinny ribbon of asphalt, laid 20 years ago in a guy's pasture that liked racing karts.

The ONLY passing for a CMC would definitely be in the grass.

But, with a few zeros, it could be upgraded ...

The problem with Gunterring was that is was a HUGE chunk of land in a highly sought after portion of the greater metroplex.

Had it been built, homeowners all around would have bitched and wound up restricting it to the point where it was no fun ... see Kennedale.

Building them in a town that has no worth (Cresson) or in a rice patty is far more safe.

It wasn't too many years ago that Cresson had no traffic light. 171 traffic had a stop sign only. So MSR-C has made Cresson.

And given the current housing environment, that may not be a wise decision either.....

Narrow is right. Oakhill is only about 15' feet wide at its widest points. The only thing that runs out there is karts and bikes. Cool layout though, lots of elevation change.
