FYI...I talked to Clifton over the weekend.
From our conversations, indications are:

+ 3 races (our season default schedule)
+ standing starts for all races
+ Race 1- by qual time
+ Race 2- invert R1 race finish, by class
+ Race 3- grid TBD randomly by Series Directors/driver meeting

I'll be down there early Saturday morning and throughout the weekend.
(My work schedule and some new responsibilities have left me with no time to repair/prepare my car. There's always next year!)

Al Fernandez will step up to fill the primary AI/CMC series director role for the weekend (when he's not racing.)

See you guys this weekend for another Weekend Racing Vacation!!!

race 3 length?

See Clifton...I have to believe with a 3 race weekend that that will mean a 30-40 min race on Sunday.

I suspect the schedule will be out any day now.

Only three races? That kinda screws up my plan to win the second race on Sunday.

Clifton, thanks for the schedule and I am looking forward to my first 40 minute race in over a year! Will it be a double points race?

Also, my dad is coming down with me to help out this weekend and I would like to take him out in HPDE 3/4. Who do I need to clear that with at the track? You are Mr. Mixon?

Thanks!

Mrs. Matus

It will be up to your Series Directors as to the points awarded for the 40 min. race.

As a newby I would get more out of four races than three. In the 40 minute races I've seen the pack just gets futher and futher apart.

thus the reason myself and Todd asked if you guys wanted a Competition Yellow at the half way mark the last time we did this (TWS April?). the group said no way. i was all for it. we could do that.

plus, a 40 will give you a taste of what most pro guys get to do. long races are awsome as long as you have a battle the whole time.
drive slow, we will catch you as some point. then hammer down w/ your fresh tires!

Typically, there is still someone to race. Additionally, even if there isn't, it gives you time to work on being smooth, consistent, hitting your marks, and not making mistakes. In CMC ( as well as other series ), consistency/no mistakes is key.

Try a one hour enduro with 68 cars on track. It teaches huge amounts of patience, and how to deal with traffic. Not to mention, a great deal of fun. :)

We can talk about points, gridding order, and competition yellows (or even competition black flags for those extremely quick!! ) during our drivers meeting Sat morning.
