Is this some track out in CA?

It is Thunderhill in Ca being run backwards, ie clockwise. Normally this course is run counter clockwise. He loses it going up and around turn 9, which is actually a combination of two bends with a pretty serious elevation change.

This is exactly why I purchased CMC 17. I did not want to make the call to my State Farm man about tearing up my C6 at the track.

One of the key items explained to me about Thunderhill was...."Never lift in T8". A true statement, as that morning, a dude in an Evo went off in T8 ( yep...he lifted ), and destroyed his car.

Love that track...with the kink.

Fortunately, the driver of the GT500 walked away. That's what's really important.

What's also important is that there is now a GT500 drivetrain coming up for sale soon!!!!

Support your local rollcage provider guys.
That incident happened in a fraction of a second.
As close and as fast as we Texans are racing, make sure you have protection!!!

Man that track has matured since I was last there.

Corner stations?
Track overpass?
T&S building?

I've never run the backside hill backwards but it looks like it can bite!!!
Al...see if you can get a hold of some AI/CMC "air" pictures from their last weekend there. I heard there were some 4 wheels up action!

If it were a Camaro, he could do a can-can too. It's a platform thing.

First of all I'm glad the driver is ok and sorry he was in an unfortunate incident.

Second, I'm thrilled to see cars like that at the track where they can actually be "driven". Yeah, the price is steep and anything could happen but at least it wasn't hermetically sealed in a garage - only to be opened years down the road.

Murphy's Law..... when you least expect it. Be safe.
