Just curious.
Seems as though Texan AI/CMC guys like to go thru their motors more than others I've seen.

PS- I hope I don't have to touch my motor. (Maybe fresh plugs...had them in since 2002.)

Can't you just give it a "look over" with the hood open?

No money for that....so no plans for that. :o

This engine is supposed to have 165k, so it could blow up next event, but so far it is not using any oil and has not strange knocks.....so I see no real need to tear it apart.

I put mine in before the last event I ran... so I'm good!!!

Re-ring and bearing...
Had a bit of pitting in the #4 cylinder that really needed a bore job. Not in the budget.

We'll see what the dyno has to say.

Ah, this reminds me of my days as a facilities engineer in a refinery where I'd put my heat exchangers, vessels, etc on the plan for the next turnaround with the work scope of "open and inspect" 8)

Glenn, you're a nut case. Last time I "looked over" my motor it was made much more convenient by my motor when it blew open the oil pan

I should have mine back by next weekend. A blown head gasket @MSRH did some real damage so it had to be torn all the way down. After that, I'll run it until it breaks again.

That is next on my list.

I changed sway bar endlinks and bushings this past weekend and changed steering columns...since I couldn't get the slop out of the old one.
