I want a two piece rear rotor! What pads are you using?

BTW, how are you liking the Enkei wheels?

Looks sweet Frank, I hope you can compete with these babies. This is my CMC secret.

Michael,

Blue anodized valve stems? You should not have let that one out of the bag. Less unsprung weight!

Make fun of them all you want, but they are free with the rims. Better than getting charged $5 per. Plus, nothing like some bLiNg for the CMC car.

Damn Frank! I recommended doing the fronts but you must be serious about getting to the front now!

Seems with all the Aero projects, motor projects and now brakes and wheels, AI seems like it might be the place to be next year...? where's Glenn, I need to talk to him!

Frank stole all my thunder I had going with the RPF1's... Regardless, nice brake combo Frank!!

I'll have to play arround with the pads. For starters I went with the polymatrix C for the fronts and BP-10 for the rear. I like the Enkei's, saved 9 lbs per corner. FMR

Frank,
Try PFC01's. I know that many swear by them. I read an article in Racecar Engineering that was talking about the development of the current-day racing pad and the fact that Performance Friction pretty much set the bar for a non-asbestos pad. The article indicated that basically everyone elses formulations are a derivative of the PFC01 pad.

I'm running them with the StopTech's and really like them. I think that DD runs them as well with quite a bit of sucess.

Adam,

I was not making fun of them I thought they were cool!

Frank,

Try the Wilwood H pads. I bet you will like them as much as anything else you try. I have used them and the PF 01's and I like the H pads a little better.

I found the Wilwood front compounds wore too quickly and produced vast amounts of dust. I got maybe 4 hours of track time out of their compounds. Also had a problem with them scoring rotors. Another thing I disliked was that if I had to work under the car, I had to wear a filter or get a nasty case of bronchitis from the dust. I like Hawk HT-10s for the front and, for lack of many choices, EBC Yellows for the rear. They seem to balance each other pretty well, don't dust much, and last for quite a while.

A friend of mine got Wilwoods for his 'Vette recently and scored his rotors the second weekend with their compound to the point that he had to mount a new set of front rotors on Saturday night. He was also very unhappy with performance. Unfortunately, he's stuck 'til someone else starts making pads for his set-up.

Once you go Carbotech, you'll never go back.

Yup.
Tell the Vette dude to send an old pad to Carbotech.
They'll make some up.

Actually, I have gone to PFC's and will NOT be going back to Carbotechs... Pad wear and overall grunt goes to the 01's...

Um, I think braking is just fine. The new package of wider track, some front shock changes and going to the PFC's netted nearly a full second off lap times at Houston. from the looks of it, the new arrangement is slower than the old based on other's lap times....so I may have improved MORE than a full second?!!

Seriously though, based on initial bite, overall stopping power and longevity are much better in my application than any of the numerous carbotech pads I had on the car. now i am just going to have to find a new rear pad too but i think i am going PFC there as well. 01's in the front and 97's in the rear. Seems to be the go to setup!

I had these problem when I used the Wilwood J pads. The H pads do not dust very bad and they don't tear up rotors. I have a set of pads that have five DE weekends on them that still have a few track days left. Over on the Corvette forum most of the road racers are using the H pad. I have used the 01's and they work fine but I did not get as much life out of them as I did the H pads. I have not tried them on the Mustang but on the C6 they were my pad of choice.

Thanks, guys. I'll pass this info along to Travis ('Vette guy).
