Jeff,

How did you go so much faster on Sunday than Sat? Wayne $hit on the field by over a second on Sat. in qual. and in both races then you set the lap record on Sun? I just wonder what you found betwen Sat. and Sun? Was it a learning the line thing or a set-up thing?

By the way I can't watch the vids here at home. It shows a question mark in the middle of the screen.

I didn't beat his times on Sat.
His times were never made official (dyno).

Sounds like a good sales pitch to me. I've heard of this magic car over the last couple years but have never seen any proof. Those laps you speak of were never verified with a dyno cert. It may be the fastest CMC car in existance but that's a hell of a claim with nothing to back it up.

I'm not sure all conditions have been met for a return by the driver?
I'd have to think about it.
Dunno if I'd wanna race someone with that 1/4mi dirt track tear 'em up mentality.

Wayne never told me about his lap times. Glen told me about it a few weeks ago.

I wish Wayne would come out in 08 and drive CMC. He says he is not wanted or welcome in CMC and in fact I know that is true from what a few of you have said.

Back to the thread......Jeff you don't work hard enough when you drive. Sure looks easy, I work way too hard trying to go fast.

It's probably not his car (wayne...) you turkeys have to keep in mind he has been racing at Hallet for well over 10 years and usually many times per year. It also doesn't hurt that he's a hell of a driver.

Anyway...Burch, no Houston or TWS records to brag about?! ;)

Personally, lap records don't mean beans to me...probably because I don't own any of them!!! What I think is important is wins and how the end of the season falls out. If you get some records along the way, consider it a bonus!

The thinking with the thread Matt is for documentation.
Sharing with newbies. "How'd he do it?"
In CMC it's all about where you start the race.
On the little 1.7mi bull rings, critical.

Not my thread.
If you got a record of record, share it please.
Who has them in AI?
Are they all from '05??

Most all the AI records are held by John. Most are going to be difficult to match however, if I can continue to improve similar to what I did at Houston at the last event, some of them may be in Jeopardy. I think the records at Cresson will stand for a long time. That track, in my opinion, is about done for hot laps. It's just WAY too polished now. Heck, it's what 12 years old now?!

TWS AI record may fall soon, Hallet is pretty safe and Houston seems like there might be a challenge there.

Armstrong and Skip have the AIX records but I think I might have updated the TWS lap record there in August...? Unsure really.

Grr...almost forgot. At Iowa Speedway, I ran a 55.0x in Sunday's qualifying. That was .9 faster than anyone in the CMC field ( 4 of us total ). However, I couldn't back it up during the race, and lap records only count in a race.

JJ

What happened on and off track is not wanted or welcomed.

Wayne is a great guy. I would race with him any day, and like I've told others here, who had a similar perception, I'll fight to be first in line to welcome him back.

Again, I have no issue with Wayne as a person or as a driver. I do have issue with the way folks handled themselves on that single, fateful day in June.

Being the eternal optimist, as adults, it's time to move on. What happened, happened and the clock cannot be turned back. I'm sure some wish they could.

All we can do is let it go and move on.

Maybe this thread shoud be locked. I now know the whole story. I still like Wayne and wish he would say he is sorry and come race with us but I don't want to start a war here on something that has been hashed over time and time again (before my time).

Sorry I brought it up.

Is that a diversionary tactic there Spinny?!

Surely someone has gone of and gotten a couple 360's in. I know I have a full 360 minus a 90 in my bag of tricks but surely SOMEONE has more than just one full rotation?!

Now the true points of interest would be the total degrees of rotation from all career spins (Varner and Ginsburg battle that one out), then the most miles driven in the grass/dirt....well, that's no contest if you have Corey on the participant list!!!

jeffburch
03-05-2008, 10:14 PM
Yes, worth it for the realtime lap data while racing.
But I got it for 1/2 of retail and my sponsor Argent Lab helped with the cost.
Thanks Boudy.
I'm still learning how to analyse the data.
Bought a new hooptie laptop so I can spend more time with it.
So far it just affirms what I already know.
1. get in the gas sooner.
2. Coast more on corner entry before hitting the brake going to the apex.
3. Be smooth, hold the corner speed up.
4. Stay off the brake.

The data shows my fast laps where I diamond the corner in 2 and get in the gas WAY early. Makes a large graphed difference when comparing to other laps.

With the links posted you can lookie for yourselves.
Also, Argent Lab gets a good price on these new.

You just use the friction from the tires to slow you enough to turn without breakin loose (therein lies the trick) then on the gas as early as feasible. Correct or no?

Update your media player codecs!
I'll redo them someday as .wmv

Yup, side friction.
This's exactly what I was doing in that big LH sweeper on the backside of MSRH. No brake until straight for the RH'r
Take it deep on the Rt side of the track, lift, turn for the apex and hold on for the friggin ride.
(No) brake lites don't lie.
