I see there is a big hole in our racing calendar between April 25 and June 25. Who's up for the concept of a 1st Annual Texas AI/CMC Drag Racing Championship and BBQ? (Concept similar to our Karting Championship.)

We could have it at Texas Motorplex, centrally located in Ennis.
All cars would have to remain AI/CMC legal.
With enough cars we could grid together and have a CMC runoff and an AI runoff.
AI & CMC Winners square off against each other with the handicap to determine the ultimate champion. (Glenn could hobble a trophy together.)

Could be a fun summer get together...low key...BBQ...family deal...and see who has got the reaction times for standing starts!!!

(Great series marketing too.)

Who's in?

Class legal trim.
Heads up racing.
Love to see how close we are at the end of the 1/4.
I suspect the times will resemble karting times measured in fractions.

You could run it in AI as long as it meets the weight ratio and has Toyo tires! :-)

tell you what, if those CMC-2 guys can drive thier CMC-2 cars to the trackin the summer and not break a sweat i'll put myself in AI. to meet the power to weight ratio, i'll need at least 2 passengers. what minimum weight for 450rwhp/420rwtq?
i have a dyno sheet from the early 90's i can turn in that says 315rwhp.

I'd do it just to have a real good excuse to replace the motor that's in my POS. Needs a clutch anyway....might as well fry it completely :)

no go on bringing the car out.
Prime stretch of time off to get 'er up on stands and start undressing for what ever may need to be attended without havin' to hurry.

The track will probably give you a hard time about no side windows. NHRA requires it. They gave me cr^p when I ran Chris's car sat night at NPR in LA.

Yup, same thing regarding cut off switches at the rear of the car if you have a relocated battery.

Also, Ennis sucks in the Summer. Neat idea but I have plenty going on in the off months to keep me busy...

We will be racing at Pueblo in May, the weather should be perfect and the track isn't too bad.
