John Oliver will be co-driving a vette this year. John is the guy who coached me and basically solved all my over-heating issues.

Basically it's an evolution of the Cannonball run.
Competitors drive from track to track and compete in time trials. Everything happens in a specific time frame.
This year, the schedule is ...
Saturday - Road America (Wisconsin)
Sunday - Mid America (Iowa)
Monday (AM) - TWS (Bryan/CS)
Monday (PM) - Lone Star park (Houston)
Tuesday - No Problem Raceway (Louisiana)
Wednesday - Carolina Motorsports Park (South Carolina)
Thursday - Virginia International Raceway (Virginia)
Friday (AM) - Beaver Run - (Pennsylvania)
Friday (PM) - Design Engineering, Inc. (Ohio)
Saturday - Tire Rack (Illinois)

They cancelled Lone Star Park because of the rain, but they ran TWS 2.9 CCW and 1.8 CCW in the downpour. All were well behaved. Martin got Tony Swan to autograph the latest Car and Driver and talked with us for a while. Nice guy, good sense of humor. Brock Yates, Jr. was a good guy with a slightly twisted sense of humor.

The guy knows how to pan with a slow shutter to get the speed shot.
That number has been mine my whole life, until recently.
My dad gave it to me in '72. Cinco de Mayo.
Pretty sure that's Costas in there w/me.
Sometime in this stint we had an old Hoosier RR come apart.
Corn was standing on the wall down there somewhere.
Didn't know him from Adam at the time.
A friend, Mike Countryman got me hooked up with him.
I sure wish he'd find his damn camera.

FWIW, our avg speed on the way home including stops (from Daytona to College Station) was faster than the race average, in a 15 passenger van none the less :D

Jeff - its hard to take pics from the tower and grid... if you can convince Shannon (and Misty, Rick, PCA etc etc) I dont need to be there I'll spend all my weekends on a corner takin pics. I guess I could wave flags too...

Nice shot!
I've never seen the suspension loaded at the entry of T1. Very telling pic. You make me want to go pick the car up from the frame shop tomorrow! (Going to stop by and see how it's coming.)
