I think Gunter said he had over 4 gig of photos from the weekend. He was all over the track and in the paddock. I am sure once he gets settled in NM, he will post them...however, has anyone figured out why our Gallery is gunk'd right now? I gotz some pics to post!!!

BTW... I would like to get podium pics from this event....but especially from last event at TWS.

Did Daron's wife take those pictures?

Track record holding wheels, to be exact.

I was not overly impressed by them. I don't think there is a lot of time to be had in the move to 17s. What grip increase you see is negated by more unsprung weight.

Al Fernandez

How much heavier is the tire/wheel combo? Do you have the wheel weight by itself too?

michaelmosty
06-25-2008, 01:51 PM
For other info. Toyo's website says their weights are:

Full Tread
255/50/16 - 27 lbs.
275/40/17 - 29 lbs.

Not sure on the shaved weights.

On my bathrrom scales ...

46lbs ... 16x8 - 5 spoke (twisted) - 255/50/16 Toyo RA1 - shaved 4/32 - new. Wheel alone is 21 lbs.
51lbs ... 17x9 - 10 spoke SS - 275/40/17 Toyo RA1 - shaved 4/32 - used. Wheel alone is 19 lbs.

Thanks Mitch! I got to watch myself make mistake after mistake. I was able to hold off Chris by many car lenghts in R3 until I started losing my PS. You were just toying with me Mitch but I enjoied it more than you could know.

Driving with no power steering can be a bitch. That was an impressive off exiting T6.

R4 - My first time starting in the front

http://precisionautoaccessories.com/CMC/Videos/Hallett-R4.wmv 42M

I was shocked that I was able to lead the entire first lap! Then, I was just picked off one by one... I wore out long before the car did. That was intense trying to keep Wirtz, Proctor, and Michael behind me for that many laps. Luckily they were busy with each other as well.

In the middle of the turn I lost all PS and for a second I thought the wheel was locked. I just drove it off and dropped out of the race at that point. For about two laps prior I had power assist only part of the time then on that lap in turn six I lost all assist.

Nice videos guys. Michael needs to post up some of his R4 video.

I didn't have anyone to turn my camera on, so I don't have any except for R3.

Mine used to be that way till I slide it up the diagonal bar by my right ear.
Even with the containment seat I'm able to swing my orangutan arm up to turn it on.

I just got the editing done tonight and have it at 23 minutes of footage for the weekend. I got some great shots for James, Witrz, and Corey in R4, unfortunately I was only up w/ them for a few laps. I was pretty intense though. :)

Ok, the file size is still much larger than I would like, but I wanted to post what I had for Race 4. I need to keep working to find a way to reduce the files down further but I'm out of time to play with it this week.

This by far was the most fun race for me this weekend. I started pretty much DFL so you get to see just about everyone. The download will be very slow, sorry. Right click and save as please. Go get some coffee while it downloads.

You gotta speak up. I was wandering around before the start of every race and would have been happy to start a camera. I did check for hood pins (and found missing ones).

I am downloading Jeff's video now. It should be done in about an hour. Once I have it, I will upload it to my site so everyone else can get it faster.

Michael, let me know if you want me to host your video as well. I have 80 gigs of bandwidth/month, so plenty of room.

Raybob you can see a little in the rearview mirrow of JB's video but probably not everything you want to see.
You guys should attend all the Texas events by the way.

The rub is there in the mirror. He spun on his own after that.
Does anyone have him jumping the fence?
