the directors want all the banners to look alike. i the past (years ago) we all got them from Tony. later folks started using thier graphics buddy to do them. in the 2009 rules there will be a font type listed so that we once again will have the same banner.
this has been on the table for the 2009 rules update.

When my Graphics Buddy cut everything else for my car, he scanned the banner I got from Todd. I can see if he can cut new ones from that file if you like.

Being as the 09 rules aren't posted and official, I guess we can still use our graphics dude, then.

I have a spare "LOVE in it RACING" windshield banner... could provide one for everybody if the directors want all to look alike :P

Pegasus has been reasonable... I might have a new hookup for vinyl and graphics in a couple of weeks... I'll let you know...

APEX VINYL - RICHARD TOMLIN 832-455-4559

This is the vinyl guy's name I use as he does a lot of the SCCA and BMWCCA cars and is pretty well known in the Houston area. He does a really good job and he is really reasonable on the prices. I have been trying to get him to convert over to NASA from SCCA. I am sure he will give NASA TX a sweet package deal for all of those that need the banners or whatever decals.[/b]

Tony sent me the exact font, pitch, and size to use a couple of years ago.

I don't remember what it was since my graphic's guy just entered it into his system.

Jeff, if you want I am picking mine up when I head home from this job. I can get my vinyl guy to cut one for you and I can give it to you at the banquet or ship it to you. I will call you later and talk to you about it.

Thx Troy.
If it's the right font/size do it.
The one above mentioned by Gary is the correct one.
I measured mine (@ curb for trash) and the size is correct.
Font is correct aswell.
Impact italic.

I need my name aswell.
Impact non italic will work.
Is that 4" or 5" ?

thx,
jb

I have a bunch of white and black Toyo decals coming from NASA. I'll have them at MSR in Jan. If other options arent attractive, Rat Racing Graphics (link on the CMC natl. site) will give you a good deal and he has all the correct fonts/sizes etc. He's an FFR driver in MidWest.

Gary again throwin down the font tech! (3G guys  )
Thx Al, those'll work great.
I'm going with RRG (on all my other stuff) because my other graphics guy went TU on me

Since CMC has now gone the 10" number route, I'm working on doing a number plate rectangle similar to WC touring cars.
The upper 25% having the cmc logo in there.
Anyone have a hirez file of the logo?
Maybe then we wouldn't need to have our class identifier a
HUGE 5 inch.

Since we have been talking font tech... I found where I was given the windsheild banner information from RRG a couple of years ago.

I too have lost my Graphics sponsor....he sold the business to someone else and I have not had any contact with them.

Here's the specs for the windshield banner.

Font: Swiss721 BlkCn BT
Font Size: 3.750
Character width scale: 81.5%
Character slant: 10 degrees
Tracking -4.0%
Drawn on an arc of 325.4" Radius

Gotcha covered, there jb.

Last time at Nationals, Toyo was giving out 4 per person. So, I went and got 4 and so did Glenn, Kevin, Steve, Kevin #2 and Sean.

I snagged them just for this purpose.

I bought Chuck Scheibe's CMC2 Camaro. If I can get the paperwork done in time and do not screw up the check ride with Michael Mosty, I'll be racing with ya'll at TWS in April.

Is that the correct windshield banner spec above?

Impact non italic for the name? 4" or 5"?

Where do you suggest that I get the banner, the name graphic, and the orange rookie "R's"?

GlennCMC70

I think Rat Graphics is the place to get them.
I was trying to push to have the font and size posted in the rules. We really want all of them to look the same.

Congratz. That is a fine CMC-2 car (unless Chuck took all the good stuff off prior to selling). Glad to have you with us in a good car.
I guess Chuck is one of the only guys since I started that did not like racing with us.

Starting at the back of our group can be very intimidating... I talked to Chuck alot (we instruct together) and he was not comfortable with the amount of contact we had in 2009 AND was never comfortable about the handeling of his car.

HOWEVER, rumor has it that he might move to a spec 944??? those guys are more insane than we are (if thats possible)

Congrats Wayne, Glad to see you saw the light and switched over...

These guys have done most of mine, the quality of vinyl is very good

Also, Signtex in Tomball, they have sponsored race cars and understand the quality isssues...

I think Chuck just had a lot of his buddies racing and doing HPDE's in other run groups and just wanted to do more things with his close friends.

What's TT again??

Just kidding Ken

I just got all my letters/numbers cut at a local ricer shop here. I got the AI banner, my name, 2x 4" numbers, 4 AI letters and 4 R's for $21. I can ask about prices for CMC banners if anyone wants. If I bring them the specs, they can cut them while I wait.

Congrats on picking up a fine ride Wayne!!!
Congrats on getting the car sold so quick Chuck, and lets see you back in an AIX monster huh??

Wayne, give me a call any time you need to.

Thanks for the welcome and the suggestion for ratracergraphics. I have the banner, name, "2s", and rookie kit on the way. The rookie kit is $5 and comes with this cool license plate:

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z18/wstehle/nasa.jpg (http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z18/wstehle/?action=view&current=nasa.jpg)

I figured a can of orange spray paint or a roll of orange tape would probably cost that much.

However, best laid plans and all that - does anyone have a set of license plate screws for a 1998 Camaro?

I'm sure your local Lowes Racing Supply or Home Depot has 'em ;) they can't be that fancy  :P

GlennCMC70

The OEM holes just take a normal screw. nothing fancy. In the past, I just ran a #10 bolt into the hole. It will hold just fine.

Oh man... don't know if I would run one of those new fangled plates. You need one that's already been broken in.

Glenn, get this man a proper, previously raced (and maybe even run into by Da Man) rookie plate

Its been a tradition to sign the back of these and date them and pass them on when the time comes. The one I used was signed by Adam Ginsburg, myself, and Mitch Warren.
