That is a nice looking race car!
Has anyone heard if anyone is planning to field a new Camaro in WC? I'd love to see the Cobra, Caddy and Camaro duel it out with the Corvette's !!
Oh and those pussy Porches too. :P

The Camaro dudes drool for the entire first page about the shade of blue, not a single mention of the traction control switch or the data logger toggle.

But I bet that bluee looks bitchin' against gold chains!!!

meh ... it's a Camaro. Like a mustang, they all look alike.

Now, a Pontiac ... that's classy!

They don't need to go to WC. Time to kick it old skool - Trans Am reduex, ala 1970:

Tell me that won't bring spectators, TV time, and sponsorship. Tell me...try to tell me!

Unfortunately, the Goat was canceled, so it wouldn't be eligible.

Well, we had a preview of the Trans Am redux a couple weeks ago...or maybe Trans Am Old & New is a better term

Not true - I missed the 4 to 5 shift on the front straight at TWS and got 4 to 3 instead. Bet that got more revs than your motor.

I have a reliable source that rumors of a new Camaro being prepped for AI out in San Diego could be true. Corey Weber (Agent 47) supposedly is getting (or has gotten) a body in white for development purposes. It more than likely will be the V6 version to get the weight break. It still makes 300hp stock ...

But it only makes like 275 ftlb of torque - 6-speed aside, isn't that going to be a disadvantage against my car (300/320) given equal weights?

Only if it is left stock. If they can get the weight down to 2500 lbs with driver, it already makes the maximum RWT (278 calculated) and 263 RWHP.

Not so disadvantageous if it puts lots of fiber in its diet (carbon that is).

Remember, no minimum weight on 4 and 6 cyl cars.

If we can't get a fox down to 2700lbs with driver...the mythical 4cyl car weighing less than that AND whipping our ass isn't going to happen. also knowing corey it will have an LSX motor in it and have everything not used removed. I bet it will be nice but don't expect it to weigh less than 2700lbs.

I can't wait to find time to get my car on a diet...if I could get her down to #3000 with me I'd be friggin' stoked. I've got my eye on about #200 on the car and about another #10 on me...but beyond that I am going to have to take a hard look at other S197s for ideas.

I got a plasma cutter here at the house I have been having fun with! you're welcome to come down with the car and we can lighten that sucker up real quick!!! Pulled 12lbs out of mine in about 15 minutes the other night...but I am starting to run out of things to cut off the car!

I appreciate the offer Matt. I may just take you up on that if I am ever in town long enough - way too much metal on that car :)
