If I had room, I'd already have one.

Only for a profit ...

In my trailer? You are beginning to sound like that Landrum character.

If I had the room, I would already have a tire mounting machine. It would be great if someone around me had one I could use.

I haven't bothered balancing my race tires in years...

I've seen you post that on a couple occasions and would like to get your reasoning why you don't have your tires balanced. I'd like to know if I'm throwing money away ...

I read where Richard said that last year prior to Hallett and so I have not balanced a tire since then. So far I can't tell the difference.

i stopped as well unless it's part of the mounting fee. By the time you wear off the tread and pick up rubber from the track and buildup inside the rims and most of the Toyos being out of round anyway, balancing them does nothing for us. considering most balancing machines only balance a tire good to 60mph....doesn't really fit our needs!

I just picked up and old center clamping one for fiddy bucks... I gotta overhaul it and then it will be mounted on my trailer with a compressor and generator....

I tried NOT balancing my tires once and they felt terrible. I have a place that does a mount and balance for $10/tire so I have balanced all since then.
I might have a slightly bent wheel or maybe the tire was slightly out of round the only time I tried it.

Marshall and I switched cars once during a test day and he felt the terrible vibration on mine. I got mad at him for talking shit about my car so I went out and blew up his transmission.

If there is enough interest, I have a semi-portable Snap-On manual balancer that is very accurate that I could bring to Cresson or TWS. I bought (stole) it in San Diego last year for $220. I found out that this thing retailed for over $2k. All you need to bring is your stick-on weights. Let me know.

I've been antique shopping since I saw what our trackside support was using at ECR and MSRH. $36 for 4 tires balanced on one of these old things.
If you remember them, you're OLD!

I'm OLD then. I remember them and I worked in a shop in 1977-1978 that used one every day. We also had a Hunter balancer that used a strobe light hooked up to the frame to pick up vibrations as it spun the tire/wheel. It was hard to use but you could balance for any speed up to and over 100 mph depending on the tire size.

Yup seen those too.
Little roll around 220v motor on a dolly.

This thing is so cool and works great.
I moved it into my tire/computer/smoke/saloon.

Would there be any reason to throw the Snap-On balancer (hand-spin computer balancer) on the trailer? Would anyone use it if I brought it?
