What is the best way to remove decals without damaging paint???

Heat gun...get the vinyl hot and it'll peel right off without messing with the paint.

Hair dryer works well too. You know those oil execs have all the fancy tools. Go easy so you don't bubble the paint. Use Goo Gone or similar stuff to remove any residue left behind.

WD-40 also works to remove glue and tire rubber.

WD-40 also works to remove glue and tire rubber.

Also learned this weekend that wiping it on the nose of the car keeps the bugs from sticking too badly also! the rain didn't even wash it off!

We went to dinner at Hooters after the event w/ Glenn and Mitch and I asked what was up w/ the small scratch on Glenn's forehead (1 cm) and he said he got it doing his donuts.
Not a major injury but pretty funny how it happened.
