Here is a pic. of the Porsche that ran me off down in T1. :x
If you look at the picture sequence, Glenn passed him on the straight, Rob passed him at the transition, and I got pushed off just before the "yellow box". The crazy thing is, is that he went off b/w T1 +2 at the same time.

I thought it was one of the red Porsche's that did it but I guess it was the red mist I saw. :)

It sucked about 30-45 minutes before this vid! With the crap on the windshield, you couldn't see much coming into T8, T10 or 13,14,15 complex. Sort of Dangerous really.

Footage straight from the camera or SD card is most welcome. Anytime compression comes into play will affect the quality of the video when trying to do it in HD.

At this point, I will take whatever is available since I've received very little from the past two events in the way of material to work with for the year end video.

Once again, I know we are all busy with life in general and sometimes it's difficult to make time to work in other parts or projects. My offer still stands to pay for shipping (both ways) if you have raw media that you don't have time to process. I will send you a package in order for ya to drop in the stuff and once it's digested, will send it back (free of charge).

Eric, since we didn't do anything for the 08' season, would you consider raw footage from 08' too? That's all I have...and the start of the AI championship race was pretty cool...along with a MONSTER pass on Mark "the big pussy" Luna...

Race 2.

http://www.vimeo.com/4301230

Note the shift light. It used to be set-up at 5200 and I was lifting in the first race because I was thinking I was gonna blow the damn thing up. In R2 I watched it all the way down the front stretch and it was only hitting 5500. Maybe 5600 had I held it all the way down turn one. All this talk about my stroker motor.....wait until I post R1 and you see the Mitchster pull me like I'm tied to a post. On the lap after James pased me I lost the clutch cable downshifting into carousel. I had trouble the whole race as you can tell by the slow shifts. I really had trouble getting it to shift while trying to get around Frank when he gave me the point.

Note the standing yellow at start/finish.

Jerry, you did a great job on the start.
i haveto say, you have come a long ways. i see a few errors that are costing you a few seconds, but overall, nice race.

are yuo driving w/ one hand? i see a reflection of your hand in the glass that tells me you are keeping it on the shifter.

apex of 9 is too early. you should be hitting it at the end of the curb on the right. way past the yellow part.

Jerry, I had a similar issue only having one hand on the wheel. Use two hands on your daily every day. It trains you a little before you get to the track. I am also going to guess you might not be using the seat and harness to it's fullest and you are "bracing" yourself with the hand on the shifter...? The biggest difference in accurate driving for me was getting both hands on the wheel and anchoring my ass in the seat squarely. I have gotten to where my hands only leave the wheel to move the shifter...even on my daily!!! This will improve your chances immensely in car corrections and being able to wrestle the car on track.

Ditto! I worked on my braking technique at MSR-H a few years ago and I found this was a big reason why I was NOT effectively braking before.

Yes, PHB bracket on axle tube.
It's broke all to hell.
On left handers, it was moving over (left) and pushing the LR caliper to the left compressing the piston. Hence the long pedal after left handers.

It's gotta be pulled (tensioned back to the right) then shored up.
Then, reinforced somehow.

http://www.argentlab.com/nasatx/Liebbe/Daves%20Headlight.wmv

Enjoy

hehe... I said "head" light....

for those who didn't hear the story... Misti's team was gonna be black flagged for no headlight... I retrieved my "flash"light and ratchet strap from the camper and we were gonna strap it to the hood or roof of the car... Rob got so tickled with the idea he brought over his camera... good times...

THx GL. Could use another set of eyes on it
Yes, PHB bracket on axle tube.
It's broke all to hell.
On left handers, it was moving over (left) and pushing the LR caliper to the left compressing the piston. Hence the long pedal after left handers.

It's gotta be pulled (tensioned back to the right) then shored up.
Then, reinforced somehow.

jb

Who ya gonna call??? Mr. My panhard bar broke 3 times and I finally got it fixed...

not sure if this is a 3rd gen issue or not but if any one has extended their panhard brackets cuz you lowered your car give me a shout and I can give you some advice on strengthening your brackets so they won't fail...

GlennCMC70

this is a common failure when lowering the PHB. most kits include a brace to keep this from happening. i've seen the entire OEM bracket come off the housing before.

Wow good thing you found that JB. I'm sure you guys will patch that up just fine. Was that bracket modified from OE to move the PHB pivot point?

Rob...you're giving that 4th gen a hell of a run for its money, which is something I actually like seeing from a platform parity perspective. Its just another data point is all.

Yeah, but he was on 888's that had run an Enduro and I was on RA1's, I still think the Mustangs need more concessions. :D

Sitting at my desk I can't remember which side is the axle side but I think it is the drivers side. Do the UE brackets mount to the body? If they mount to the axle, then they are legal.

7.33.2 Panhard bars:
1. Ford vehicles may add a panhard bar. The bar may be adjustable for length. One panhard bar mounting point may be height adjustable to allow for leveling of the bar, but the other mounting point must be of fixed height.
2. GM vehicles may substitute the OEM panhard bar. The bar may be adjustable for length. The passenger side mounting point must remain OEM stock. The driver side mounting point may be lowered, but only to the point where the panhard bar is parallel to the axle at ride height.

i also had some major issues all weekend.
the spoiler set-up i was running didnt give much rear grip, so i was killing the rear tires. i also had a major front end shake under any braking. i've got some trashed front bushing. anyways, i couldnt use more than 3/4's of full brake. going into 1-2 it was so bad i could barely turn the wheel. a few times i thought i was going off. anyways, the car was fast down the straight w/ no spoiler (to speak of) but it hurt everywhere else. i had planned on being able to "test" it Sat morning, but that got "washed" out.

Careful Frank! You might get nominated for Eric's assistant for the year end video! I loved the race 1 vid!!!

When you get a chance, PM me your combo engine/cam wise and what tuner/chip brand you have. If it's an SCT, see if you can get the tune file and email it to me. I will have my guy look at it and make some suggestions. Seems a little lazy down low but might be able to fool with timing to get a harder hit like mine.

There are a couple places you could carry some more speed through (T5, T12...) and I would be happy to loan you my plasma cutter to get some weight out quickly.

===============================================

Hi Jeff,

Great to hear from you!

I have never been to Hallett, I am very much looking forward to it! I
should be driving there too but currently searching for a car to rent.

Yes I'm a fellow racer :)

Jay and Shannon have been great to work with for sure.

I am quite flattered that you all like the pictures, racing is one
true passion of mine. I don't have set fee schedules but usually a
small custom / polished batch of photos (3-5 photos is about $50-60/
per set up), some buy larger packages which can cover the main photos
to tiny details, ranging from $80-150.

All is flexible, I'm willing to help my fellow drivers however I can.

I usually provide a set of shots similar to each other but will have
some variations so you can print which is best for you. I go for the
driver/posed shots + the car, the car by itself, and a few action
shots. All are provided on CD in print quality so you can make
posters, mailers, etc.

Let me know how I can help you, and feel free to give me a call if you
have any questions. My mobile # is 480 205 3592.

Spread the word if you can that I sell photos and website work (I need
new tires for my Arizona-based Miata!) I wont be hard to find at the
track, look for a Blonde girl wearing a black baseball cap with a fat
camera. I'm always pitted with Jay Matus.

Cheers,

Great photos - again. I talked to her at Hallett, she evidently has a thing for Miatas and Mustangs and while we both agreed that Miatas were for chics, that's what she is building for herself. I offered her a ride in a CMC or AI car, but since my car has no passenger seat, I expect someone else to offer her a ride at TWS. Maybe we can convert her to the proper race group - AI/CMC.

For some reason JB I normally get better starts than the car in front of me (right JP?). At Hallett I did this in both races and because of the rain just sat there and spun. In the first race I thought I had torn the gears out of the T5 because it would not go anywhere......it just sat there. I finally realized I was spinning. In the second race if I had kept going I would have knocked over the flag stand.
