Just talked to Michael...

He qualified for pole in CMC and immediately checked out during R1. While working through slower AI traffic, an AI car from Colorado dive bombed him going into T1 and drilled him in the driver's quarter, right behind the door. That threw Michael off course and into the tire wall. He was able to get the car going again and finished DFL.

R2 inverted and he was starting P3 behind two folks who DNF'd R1 (one Colorado "chick" and Dave Francis). Michael got by those folks and won an easy R2 race.

I'm sure he would have rather won the R1 Toyo race, as it seemed that he had that one in the bag.

Other than a ruined rim and tire and a bit of a boo-boo in the quarter and front bumper cover, the car is fine.

Saturday was great. Texas CMC cars are fast, but so are Colorado and Illinois, but Wirtz and Mosty are doing us proud. I'm not doing too bad with a third in R1 sandwiched between Burch in seci\ond and Bob Denton in 4th all nose to tail. As usual, the Colorado guys throw a hell of a cookout.

It is raining right now but will pass - may be wet for qual. New R888's or beat to piss RA1's. I'm keeping both sets handy.

Oh - when playing the 2006 Texas video last night for the entire gang, a picture of Todd came up, and the computer crashed. Geez. :roll:

On behalf of the Midwest Guys I would like to say thanks for hosting this V8 party. We had a great time and enjoyed racing with some fast "Dudes".

It's always nice putting faces to names we talk to over the internet and finally getting to race with all the past (and future) CMC National Champions.

The BBQ Saturday night was great as were the videos and Margaritas!

Personally I got my first standing start and first inverted start this past weekend and enjoyed both.

Thanks again...see you guys at the 2010 Summer Shootout.

Hey Mike,

It sure was fun racing against you in the same class again. It's been 10 years since that happened. Hope to do it again.
