I think some CMC and AI cars should pull up there for the show-n-shine and maybe show a race vid on a trailer.

Hmm. -crickets- huh?

I'd be willing to do the last 2 events for some comp credit with NASATx.
Maybe they get a miata and a vette and porsche up there.
Banners. Show videos.
Oh well.

Congrats Michael!
I've always thought it would be fun for a big group of us to do a cross-over event in our class legal cars. Doesn't matter what it would be:

Drag racing
Texas Mile
Autocross
One Lap of America
Big Bend Open Road Race
whatever

Anytime you get 5, 10, 15 cars of the same class to unload, hang out together and compete (like we do) it's going to draw a lot of attention.

If for nothing else, doing one of those events would be a huge data point on car/capability....since we're all the same, right?!?!

I'd love to see the differences in top speed of a Fox, a 4th Gen, an S197 and a convertible would be in the Texas Mile!

(Anyone remember how much fun it was to have 30+ of us competing for the Karting Championship a few years back?)

I don't have time to look at the schedule right now, but if I could fit it in, I would be in.

I'm planning a trip out to the TX mile if anyone wants to coordinate. Got invited out by one of the guys that I did the Viper wheels for. Hoping to get a ride-along :) doubt it, but it's worth a shot. Let's see, an extra 200lbs means he'll have to add another what?.......300 horses......should be no problem

Congrats Michael!!!
Mustangs rule! 8)

I'd be down for a CMC grudge race type event. I love standing starts! :)
We would have to do alot of explaining about our lack of power to people but it would be fun.

...or when both drivers shoot to the edge of the right lane to set up for the turn out ?

You have obviously been down the track at Kennedale! ;)

Jeff, we tried that "display" back in 2006 and it was laughable. The car show nuts were more interested in Jay Carley's legends car than ANY of our race cars. had my car, Michael's car, Mixon's Vette and Jay Matus' porsche. Only people that came by were people we already knew in NASA and two little kids that got Mosty and I's first autograph! Kid may be rich some day! LOL!!!!

I've been talked into an autocross with CMC 1 later in the year - Houston BMW Car Club. Don't know the details yet.

Houston region BMWCCA runs events at the Houston Police Academy:

And of course the Houston SCCA (the would love a bunch of CMC cars) runs monthly at the dog track, Gulf Greyhound Park.

Bunch of underpowered CP cars...
