here are the points for 2009 Round 5 at TWS. contact me off-line for any mistakes that need to be corrected.

Congrats to those who set new track records.
AIX to none other than Sam Crumpacker on his first weekend w/ us. 2:01.470 in R3.
for CMC - Jeff Wirtz one agian rips a stunning qual lap of 1:57.900 Saturday and set track record w/ a 1:58.910 in R3.
and it hurts to type this, but for CMC-2 Jeremy Gunter set track record in R3 w/ a 1:58.674. good job. James Proctor made a good effort in Sunday qual w/ a 1:57.911.
and to not leave AI out, Darron Cooke poped a 1:52.890 in Sunday qual. not a track class record, but it is fast.

i have to say, i'm shocked at the times this group is running. each outing we are getting faster and faster. i've raced w/ folks from all over the country for 3 years running, and you guys are the class of the field.

Haha! Thanks for the props; there must not be a big market for AIX cars in the Aug TWS races. :? Any way it goes, I've got that record for at least a year!

Congrats to the rest of you for the blazin' fast times!

Holy crap! I just realized I placed 3rd in both Sunday races. It never occured to me. :)

In case anyone missed it, I had a rear brake assembly fail on the last lap, entering T10, on Sunday's last race. The cliper braket failed completely and the caliper assembly got punched through the barrel of the wheel, causing my spin. I got back out on track and didn't notice AI had a flat tire until T8, the first right hander. I limped it around, thinking I'd drive it back to the pits, but decided to park it for fear of damaging the wheel (at this point, I didn't realize the wheel was trashed.

So, I'm in the market for:

1 10th Anniversary Cobra Wheel, grey, not gunmetal
1 Cobra rear brake caliper bracket
1 SN95 rear caliper
1 Cobra rear rotor

I haven't done an autopsy to see if there was any other collateral damage.

Jeff, you get -5 drops.

So, who is doing the math? Who has the title clinched, who has to do what to get where???? 8)

its listed on the points sheet that we will drop 20% of the lowest races for each driver.
we have run 19 thus far and a max of 23 possible for the year.
19 races gives 3.8 drops, or rounded to 4 drops.
23 races gives 4.6 drops, or rounded to 5 drops.
if for some reason we run only 3 races at ECR the total drops will go to 4.4 which will be only 4 drops.
everyone clear?
its not s set number of drops, its a set % of total races.

i'll get a list up w/ where we are w/ 4 drops.

AI and AIX are set. no drops for anyone but Cooke/Melkowitz.

CMC w/ 4 drops looks like this:
1497 Jeff Wirtz
1441 Michael Mosty
1423 Glenn Landrum
1404 Rob Liebbe
1362 Gary Robertson
1339 Charles Penney
1300 Jeff Burch
1255 David Francis
1016 Team Varvini
443 Gary Hood
442 Greg Hughes
374 Bob Denton
362 Sidney Franklin
356 David Balingit
355 Chris McComb (BIL Racing)
352 Ken Rockwell
347 Bryan White
278 Corey Rueth
270 Nicholas Valentin
169 3 Cats Racing (Beth ?)
91 Nick Runyon
best i can tell the top 10 are set. as long as each of them takes a green for each of the 4 remaining races, nothing will change.

CMC -2 like this:
1499 James Proctor
1464 Al Fernandez
1404 Team Jordan
1378 Jeremy Gunter
1369 Steve Mulder
1361 Chuck Scheibe
1321 LAW Motorsports
1294 Jeremiah Kellam from here down, 5 or more races missed.
1002 Bryan Leinart
375 Mitch Warren
89 Team Red Shift Racing

nothing here will change for 1st-3rd as long as each takes a green at the remaiming 4 races. but 4th-6th are still up for grabs.

From another thread:

This year I was determined to be in the top three in AI... man I'm I going to be disappointed.... The DownUnder guys will of course win due to work done both this year and last, however, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th may come down to a similar situation as the Jeffs last year. Currently after this weekend and including 5 drops it looks like this:

2nd: Frank w/1150
3rd: LiiR w/1110
4th Mike w/1043

With Mike's record of finishing 20 to 25 points ahead of LiiR... he should finish 3rd overall

I appreciate Glenss efforts to show the point with drops as of today but realistically there will be 5 drops in the end.

If I don't go to Utah, don't discount 4 wins for me at ECR....

How funny would it be to be 5th place in regional AI with 8 wins?! LOL!!!!

Hmmm...thats funny, I thought AI dropped 10% as per the CCR and CMC dropped 20% as per class rules. Wasnt there a thread about this at the beginning of the year?

I was actually making a joke to Jeff...-5 is negative five. Guess no one got it.

Where do I cast my vote for the 10% rule???
