Guess that means you went from Joe to Schmoe in just a few minutes ...

Many years ago, I was running sound for a local church. My wife was custodian, so I rigged up an FM reciever and piped it through the church's sound system for her to have music while she worked.

I was teaching one of the teens how to run the board and had him behind the console one Sunday evening. I had the FM channel muted and the slider was at zero. Everything powered up on a single switch.

The kid was a bored and began playing around with the dead channels and got over onto the FM channel, sending about 1000 watts of FM radio reverberating through the church.

Many of the members levitated that day.

He was removed from the board and it was a new "rule" that you had to be 21 to run the board.

But in fact, the kid was probably the best person to have at the controls from that point forward.

Shortly after that incident, that family left the church as did me and my family.

Moral of the story?
Knee-jerk, over-reaction seldom yields positive results and is indicative of narrow-minded leadership.

Not yet. On Monday I left a messge on the track #. Yesterday I called the number listed for our Friday practice day (a woman's cell #) and told her myself and many others were interested in doing a 1/2 day of practice and to call me back regarding details.
I'm guessing I might get a call tomorrow since the track is open Thu - Sun.

I am going to split the weekend with my son (following in the footsteps of those great fathers before me, Jerry and David) so I will probably run Sunday.

You could run the car double-time w/ you running the races and your son the DE's. 8)

I just finished a shakedown weekend at TWS. Everything seems mostly in order so I signed up for ECR. I put down HPDE 1 but if that is like green group with TWS I am a little faster than that. I am gonna try like hell to get a passenger seat installed this week so I can have an instructor ride with me. I ran in the yellow solo group with Misty @ TWS if that matters. See y'all there.

You can borrow the kirky seat and camlock harness that I used in the 3 car this weekend. I have a stock fox slider also if you have the original mounting holes.

To NASA instructors and/or Directors: I ran a little with Wade this weekend and he should be in HPDE 3/4. He showed good car control, made room for quicker cars and was aware of flag stations. He came up through the same ranks as Crumpacker and GR and would be a good addition to our series.

I'm taking things day-by day with a baby on the way. I spent the weekend painting the nursury instead of prepping the race car (yippie?) so its crunch-time.

Amy spent the weekend timing contractions. (She's convinced they're the real-deal. I think they're false contractions, so far.)

If I don't show up, you know the baby is really on her way.

Friday test day:
I talked to Maggie yesterday and she said they only have 4 people signed up for the full day at this time. They need to make sure they have enough people there to justify spending $$ on the ambulance, etc.
She said if you are interested in the 1/2 day to e-mail her that you will be there and she will keep everyone notified if they will be running Friday practice. She will let us know on Wednesday. Please e-mail here ASAP if you will be doing the 1/2 day Friday, mwilliams@eaglescanyon.com.

She wasn't sure on price but it will be either $100 or $125.
The people that I remember talking interest in this were me, Jerry, Jeremy, and Leinart. Anyone I am missing?

Yep, BBQ practice will start at 6PM followed by a qualifying session at 6:30PM.
BBQ race will start somewhere after that and will be a sitting start.
Order will be based on number of drinks you have had between practice and qualifying and will have nothing to do with what food you decide to eat.

How does that affect the schedule? Does it mean eliminating or grouping classes together?
Would like to be able to let my fans, I mean my family, know what time I race so they could make plans. Since there is a schedule for the goodguys car show looks like they will head there instead.

I say that AI/CMC just invades all other race classes. Go to grid after they leave, wait until they go by under the green, then pounce out behind them at pit out and just drive through their field!!!!! Can you imagine all of us pouncing on the RX7 field!!!!!

We can get Misty to hog-tie Clifton, and Todd can take over race control!!!!

Maybe a burnout extravaganza is in order - ten AI/CMC cars all lined up doing a simultaneous burnout - THAT would be cool!!!!!!! Bring your R888's. Or at GRID!!!!! Screw the wimpy 3 minute engine rev. The entire field "warming up" the tires.

True. I was just asking to give the 2 new HPDE/future CMC guys (Wade and Cody) an idea of when tech/registration opens/closes, # of driving and classroom sessions etc, since this will be their first event with NASATx.

I would rather have a preliminary schedule that gets changed at the last minute than a final schedule released at the last minute.
