Anyone have a suggestion for a shop to use in Plano or one to stay away from? This is for my wife's SUV. The rack/pinion dust boot cover is gone. Looks like I need to have the tie rod taken apart, slip on the new cover, and align it.
Since I was in the auto repair business I have trouble trusting shops/employees I don't know. As of now I will just call Firestone in the morning.
Thanks.

I'm having some minor foot surgery done tomorrow but get the part and bring that thing over to my place....couldn't take more than an hour if the rack is accessible. Any shop is going to want to replace the entire damn thing and charge you a fortune....

no need for an alignment if you are careful!
