Guys,
I just wanted to check interest on wheel hubs. I typically get my hubs from O'Reilleys. They are "National" brand, which I have found to be just as good as Timken or Koyo (Ford). I've even had one Koyo bearing in a National box.

Anyway, the front studs for the Mustangs are specialty $8/ea for a press-fit for the stock hub, or you can Drill/Ream to 39/64 and use ARP-100-7703. I have a machinest that does my hubs and was wondering if we wanted to do a batch. I disassemble all the hubs and grease them with AmsOil Racing grease, as the stock grease doesn't last long.

Here's the breakdown:

Option #1
Hub $66.25 (tax included)
Grease $10 (material plus a bit of my time)
Machine work $10
Total for a drilled/greased hub = $86.25

You will need to press in your own studs, but they are cheaper $12.95/5 from Summitt.

Option #2
Hub $66.25 (tax included)
Grease $10 (material plus a bit of my time)
Machine work $10
Studs $17.50
Installation of studs "Free"
Total for a drilled/greased/studed hub = $103.75

If I hear from everyone by Wednesday, I can have them for the banquet.

So Far, I have:

Robert B. (4, with studs)($415.00 total)
Eric V. (2, with studs)($207.50 total)
Michael M. (1, with studs)
Jerry J. (2, with studs)($207.50 total)

Regarding payment, I have a PayPal account, but cannot accept credit cards. If you want to do the bank draft (echeck) deal on PayPal, that will work. Otherwise, cash, check, money orders are all good too at the banquet or in the mail.

PayPal, if you want to use that method is:
marshallmosty@hotmail.com

If sending a check or MO, send to:
6503 Daisy Drive

Stock hubs with 3 seasons on them. ARP studs I got from Robert pulled right in...are you going to a larger stud?

You sure about the knurl? I bought some arp studs from Robert 3 years ago and they went right into the hubs I have on the car now. biggest Issue I had was they are too long for a standard deep socket if you run a wheel with no spacer and the socket bottoms out on the "leader" before the threads. Had to cut that 1/2" leader off to use my regular wheel socket. Not a big deal, but just have to be careful when putting the lugs on. With the new wheels, I don't need spacers so others might not have this problem.

I know that you can buy studs that just press into the original hub, but they are somewhere around $8/ea. The one's that I use are $12.95/5, so the machine work is worth it to run the cheaper studs ($17 savings per hub).

$8 x 5 = $40
$40 - $13 = $27
And he is supposed to be the smart one.

I'd love to get in on this, but no race car spending until I get a job!

Robert,
I can do this deal at any time. I'd rather "group" them together, but can do onesies and twosies if need be.

Marshall: I'll take 4. However, I need 2 of them delivered to Mr. Donovan. I owe him from the Nats one year...

I need 2 hubs, but is there any way possible to get the longer studs at the same time to make it a ready-to-go set? I can work with you offline regarding this.

Thx.

Boudy +4
Varner +2

Got it...
Let me see what I can do on the studs. I don't think I have enough spares to make it Eric, but I can always get some from Summitt.

I think I have a few extra sets of studs if you need them.
I'm most likely going to have a Summit order in the next couple of weeks so we can replace the studs at that time.

If these fit my 02 I need two. The ones on the car now do not have the longer studs and we can't install wheel spacers (shims).

Jerry,
They do. I'll put you down for two sets. Do you want studs included. Eric wants them and the set I'm doing for Michael will need studs, so I've included a separate option for hubs with studs.

Boudy

FWIW: My dealer cost on the ARP studs is just a tad more than Summit's price so no savings there.

ARP and Autometer just as soon be owned by Summit/Jegs...

Both Griggs and Maximum get thier ARP direct fits from Baer... they have exclusive rights from ARP. Just go to Baer if you want them.
