Looking for suggestions on converting my AI car from a carb to Fuel Injection.

I have a lot of the parts to do this already.

I know I will need at least

Computer
underhood harness
underdash harness with all nonessential wires striped out (or stand alone EFI system)
intake
injectors
mass air meter
custom fuel pump
custom high pressure lines with fittings
return line
modify fuel tank for return line
fuel pressure regulator

The question is the fuel system. I currently have a fuel cell in the car.

My question is on running fuel lines & return lines with this fuel cell. Anyone done this or know where to look for info?

You may be able to get a new filler plate for your cell that adapts for the return line.

ATL should have a kit. The ASA cars had to retrofit recently.

Some additions:

MAP Sensor
Thottle body w/TPS
EGR intake spacer (maybe)
O2 Sensors
Dizzy w/TFI module

Why the switch to EFI?

I have a 2 inch cowl hood and need it to sit lower to run a hood insert that sucks heat out from under hood.

Intake and air cleaner and restrictor plate stick up too high

I actually need a different hood,,,,

Hood also tries to lift off at high speed due to the cowl situation, weighing my options here,

Have had problems getting the carb to run right on occaision.

Might be a lot of work,

Plan A is to try and make current setup work with another hood.

Air cleaner.....air cleaner? You don't need no stinking air cleaner. How bout just a screen to catch the big stuff?

I am running both FI and a fuel cell. My setup is from ATI. I ended up using their "black box" in the cell, which is a small trap and high pressure pump. It comes with a wire bulkhead connector to run the power and ground into the cell. I then drilled my top fill plate to add another bulkhead connector that I then attached the return line to.

Another option might be to run a high pressure external pump. I just was not sure how it would work when the fuel load got low and one of the dual duck-foots in the cell got uncovered...

I can run my cell down to about 1.5 gallons before it starts to cut out.

Yup, that's it. Taint cheap, but it seems to work well.
