What adapter, if any, do you guys use on the schraeder fitting on the fuel rail for a fuel pressure gauge? Do I remember right that you guys use a short piece of -3 tubing from the port to the guage to mount it on top of the intake?

Just don't want to reinvent the wheel.

its a -4 AN fitting if i recall. use a tire core removal tool to take out the schrader core.

Digging this one back up from the dead...

Do you guys keep the fuel pressure gauge on the car? I know some of the mustang guys do, but not sure if that's apples to apples.

I have the standard test kit that screws into the schrader valve. I was looking at putting one on there permanently, so it's one less tool to have to bring to the track and quick to rule out when diagnosing issues.

Reading on some of the LT1 forums, everyone is screaming not to leave them permanently hooked up in that the schrader port is a weak link and putting anything with leverage on it will crack it, fuel going everywhere undetected until it bursts into a spectacular fireball. If it's that brittle, bouncing over kerbs won't help. The one suggestion I saw for keeping it on there involved drilling and tapping the fuel rail itself elsewhere.

I agree with not putting that on the rail. Run a line from the rail to a place where you can see it while on track. At least mount it to an inner fender. The line will not add much mass and shouldnt cause it to fail.

I would just not buy that gauge at all.

That 4AN fitting is weak and easy to break, I've actually broken one a long time ago. If you're set on getting a gauge, this is what I have currently:

You are better off, however, not introducing more points of failure in to your fuel system (line adapter + connection to gauge + gauge itself). I'm actually looking to pull mine off and put the schrader core back on.
