I borrowed a truck and trailer for TWS, so I can't make Hallett unless someone from the Houston area has an extra trailer spot that I can pay for.

Yes we can, but only during an inveted start race. The Groom and Bride To Be must be a passenger in different cars while giving thier vows.

I'm bringing 2 50 gallon drums of 93 octane, available for sale to any and all CMC/CMC2 Texas drivers, except for Gage Racing :P I kid I kid, but seriously? can we mix octane boost or buy 5 gallons of 100 octane pump gas to mix? or do we really have to haul 40 gallons of 93 octane to Oklahoma?

GlennCMC70
05-07-2010, 08:21 AM
You dont need 93 octane unless you have placed your timing on the ragged edge. I run local gas each year up there w/ no issues.

jeremiahkellam
05-07-2010, 08:56 AM
My failure was probably just coincidence. We were running normal timing settings. I now run an A/F meter to keep an eye on things.

Even still, I will be bringing some good ole Texas 93 octane.... (edited)...

Things could still change, but the current trend doesn't appear to be too bright for #9 car.

Still too much to do for the home remodel. The might as wells are starting to add up.

Youngest daughter's wedding has been like a race car building experience. There is a budget and then there is reality. The latest is the rehersal dinner has been moved (again). This time to some sort of Benni-Hanna type grill. I'm on the hook for dinner for 10-14 people. And I HATE these places ... Had I not spent the money and bought the V when I did, that money would be gone as well.

I might be able to take the weekend off and drive up to watch and take a few snaps. But race registration costs and fuel costs for the weekend make it not very appealling with everything else currently draining the bank account.

You better explain yourself son!

WTF man?

I broke my Tremec this past weekend at Putnum. My car had an oil leak/smoking issue at VIR in March and we thought it was a dipstick tube that pulled out. (Which was but only adding black oil to the red fluid everywhere else!) At Putnum it was smoking pretty bad again. Found a crack in the Trans housing. Ended up diapering it for the race on Saturday. Sunday found a couple ears broken so we ratchet strapped it to the bellhousing so I could make a few laps and the guys could get the full Toyo bucks.

I was only able to get headers on before Putnum so we decided to go ahead and pull the motor for the CMC2 cam swap and to replace all the gaskets. I'm hoping to be able to have it all back together for our Blackhawk event which is the same weekend as Hallett. Blackhawk is just 2 hours, I can camp & instruct so the entry fee & fuel savings will pay for the new Trans case.

I really wish I could race at all the big races every year but time and finances just don't allow it. I will plan to race with all you Texas & Rocky Mountain boys at Mid-Ohio in 2011!

See you then,

Sidney Franklin

Robert King - Mustang #42

Pull me from the list, please.

Financially things are snowballing this month and now I have to replace the clutch and get some other stuff done to the race car. This puts me over my racing budget, so I'm going to skip Hallett -- again.

Be safe, guys...

That really sucks Sidney. That was really cool of you to jury rig it and run a few laps to get the Toyo bucks for everyone. Think about just coming down for the weekend to hang out with everyone, it'll be a blast car or no car!

Al,

I'm going to try and get the car back together by that weekend but if I do I'm going to run up to Blackhawk farms and race with our region. We've done a pretty good job of recruiting several new cars this season but 3 of our regulars will be at Hallett (Bob, Bryan, & Kent). I've been beating the bushes trying to find one more car as it looks like we could have 5 at BHF's and big Toyo bucks to share.

I'm just really looking forward to September 2011 when we'll ALL be racing together!

Well, she's completely done for. 18 Years on the track with two owners. Only to be cremated sitting on jack-stands. Cause unknown.

By the way, the garage normally looked about this messy.

Separate structure thank goodness. Property loss only, and thanks for asking.

We even had extra water available for the firefighters (Fort Worth Company 21) so everyone did fine.

But one hell of a way to spend time at 2:00 a.m.

Wow Greg! To say that sucks is an understatement!

I hope they can determine a rough cause (the car started it or something else) just for peace of mind.

Makes me realize another benefit of my detached garage. Glad your house didn't get any damage.

Geez man, very sorry to hear about this. Thank goodness everyone is safe and that the garage was detached so the whole house didnt go.

If you need anything while you rebuild, just ask.

If anyone needs ones or twos for the front and rear of your car as required for CMC/CMC2, have no fear! Sam will be bringing extras to the event. I think that this will be more important for Hallett than it might be for other races, since there will be so many new faces and cars on the track. I have cut nine pair, because I have no idea who may or may not need these. I know that Jeremiah emailed me already and asked for a set. I wouldn't mind getting a buck each to cover materials.

Let me know if anyone needs any other stuff cut. I know Nick is having me cut a Toyo sticker for the left front fender on his car.... Thanks.

For some reason Wade sent me a new JORDAN for the windshield. The quality is spot on. Thanks Wade. I need a few other things (like a Tyo sticker since Al tore the front of my car off at Halett. I need to ee what else I lost in that deal.

I have a donor car... 85 Z28 non T top car... it is carbed so the electrical may not work for you setup...

OH and by the way "donor" as in I am willing to DONATE parts to get you back on the track... Heck, If you want I'll come and pick it up and donate some time on the project... get it back on the track for 2011....

I'll be willing to do something to help out w/ the cage you will need for the donated chassis. I can't provide the tube, but I can bend it and weld it.

If this is really something we all want to do to help Greg out, lets put up a new post and see where this goes.
Why would I be willing to do this? I've been helped out by so many here over the years, its likely the only way I'll ever be willing to give back.
