Hell everyone is getting on board with this...maybe we'll write Bernie a letter asking him if F1 can run at TWS...with some minor modifications of course.

I want to see F1 on the 3.1 Mile Road Course (http://texasworldspeedway.com/component/content/section/43.html)!

CCW, they would be braking from 220 or 230 to make that right hander between turns 3 and 4?

INteresting.

But if you read the link about the the Austin track, the wording, sentence structure, quotes ... everything sounded as if Monticello was removed and Austin was inserted.

Now THAT's interesting ...

Turn out of your subdivision START west, take the sweeper down to hard braking for the right hander over the tracks at SA weave north and blend onto W. Huffsmith take hard left, hard right, hard left, hard right to Kuyendahl turning right and take the high speed left hander down to the launch as you sweep back to S/F....

Did it in my 89 Thunderbird SC....

Sounds like it might just be up to the highest bidder.

Bingo!!! Who can spend $100M on a track and pay Bernie $50M an event?

Monticello already has a track up and running...has dirt been turned yet in austin let alone a design and development plan moved through all the regulatory entities that ruin that part of texas?

Pigs may fly soon I guess.

Last weekend, I was having dinner with a bunch of college buddies. My best friend from college was talking about a new business venture he was in with another of his business partners (the two have another business they run together.) He said something to the effect of, "I've been trying to get in touch with Red for a couple of weeks now, but our schedules aren't synching. He's got a big project he's working on in Austin and that's eating up a lot of his time."

"Red", "Austin?"

Yep! My best friend from college is a business partner of Red McCombs!

The wheels ARE turning...

Q: Bernie, have you already been thinking of a slot for the 2012 race in the calendar?
BE: We have to wait and see, ... somewhere in June.

June..? They know Austin is in Tx right?

The last time F1 came to Texas was on July 8th, 1984 (Dallas Grand Prix.) That has been one of the hottest, of not the hottest Grand Prix, ever, I believe. (Nigel Mansel, referenced above in the YouTube video,) would probably agree.)

June in Austin isn't going to be much better, BUT the teams have more experiance with very hot weather, the cars are much better, and I think we can all agree that the track surface isn't likely to fall apart!
