I may be behind the wave, but I will be leaving Tomball/Woodlands area around 6 am Friday morning. Richard Pedersen is riding with me. I plan to drive I-45 north to Dallas and then take I-35E - north through Denton to Oklahoma City and cut across on I44 west to Highway 99 north to Hallet. I tend to run about 70-75 mph when I can. If you want to join us or if you have any trouble along that route my cell phone is 281-413-1948.

See you there.

You mean you're not up here practicing yet?

We're leaving Friday morning too. Same route. Ready to spend my $12 in tolls JUST to get out of Houston. :?

We're shooting for ~6a too, but I know how I am in the mornings. Don't wait up, we'll catch up to you!

Maybe I can deploy the race car and Richard and I can run it Smokey and the Bandit style. We just have to figure out who is going to be Burt Reynolds, who is going to be Jerry Reed, who is going to be Jackie Gleason, and who we can find to be Sally Fields.

"Northbound" and Down, Load 'em up and Truck 'em

That would be a good Saturday night video against the trailer, anybody got a copy of it?

Doesn't Glenn know someone in Oklahoma who would be a good Jackie Gleason?

I've already stopped my meds. Hell I been on half dose's for the last two months anyways. I should be in my "Hallett" mode any day now.

I'de tell you guys when I'm leaving and from where, but I know someone here would dime me out just to be the Champ of the 2010 Hallett Summer Shootout.

I've already told the wife, "I'm not gonna go down quietly this time!".

Is this the mode that causes body damage to other peoples' cars or the mode that makes you run out on the track shaking a fist. I get those confused.

OK City and Oklahoma Highway Patrol are on statewide notice for the entire week.

David,

I've gone that way - 45/75/69/Indian Nation/Tulsa - in the past. There are several towns to slow you down and the roads are rough. I came back through OKCity last year and it was much better.

If you are coming from Houston I would suggest the I35 route, like Rob said the roads are MUCH better. The only reason I take I75 is that it is 2 miles from my house.

Yep... definitely a toll road. It is actually very easy for me to go up the turn pike.... almost zero traffic and a straight shot from Paris.
