Nick

Is there a particular reason the entry fee for TWS is up to $305?

It's not about the money, It's about fun and camaraderie.

You guys are having so much fun they thought you wouldn't mind!

Come on Nick, it makes perfect sense. They are expecting their largest turn-out of the year @ TWS so why not keep raising the price. :? :x  :(

Well, I guess I will have to bring $15 with me transfer the entry fee from Hallet to TWS...

Those hood seals must be expensive?

It's really not surprizing given that entries for the last 2 events were way down, and TWS charges a small fortune to rent the track?

NASA TX needs to be carefull they don't end up in a catch 22 situation - entries are down, so they need to raise the price, which in turn may cause yet more drivers to look elsewhere for their fun?

Personally, I think there is still room to raise the HPDE price a little and keep the racing entry fees below $300. Super low price is not the primary factor in DE attendance as we found out when researching and testing prices for Apex. Given that the HPDE folks get more track time than most race groups, plus the cost of instructing them both on the track and in the classroom, their entry fee is still an absolute bargain compared to the racers!

Well, that looks like it for me.

I can't make MSR/H because of work.

So, it appears, my season is done.

Just like with gasoline, I can't go any longer without a fill-up. So I have already bitten the bullet and registered for the TWS event. I also grabbed a garage which seemed like a bargain at $35 for the weekend. Last year I pitted in the sun next to Mike Bell's generator exhaust.

Adam - are you going to work your magic with garage grouping for this event? Hint - HINT!!!

Yes, I'll do my best to keep the AI, AIX and CMC folks pitted/garaged together.

Well, I just hope we don't have a diminished car count and get other series thrown into our run group which will end up effecting our tight racing and potentially a season long points battle... :x

Adam, I had sent shannon an email that I would not be attending the hallet event and to transfer my entry fee to TWS...I never got a response. Any suggestion on how to verify that this has occurred the way I intended it to and not them thinking I made a donation?

Thanks

It's funny...I actually found that if I remove the muffler off my generator, it uses 20% less gas...which over the course of two days and about 20 gallons of gas will hopefully make up for the $15 increase in fees!!!

As long as you point the exhaust of the generator right into the hot garage where everyone is working, I'm sure it won't be a problem.

My best advice is to call Jessica at 281-709-7909 and speak with her about it. Last I heard Shannon was busy with personal stuff.

Hope that helps!

Last year was my fault due to lack of knowledge of them there high dollar motorhomes. This year, I figure that I will get enough of your exhaust on the track so I'm getting a garage. :D

My actual plan is to park along the hot pit fence and run an extension cord into the garage area to power the A/C....that way I don't keep the campers up at night and can run the A/C all day long. I just need to wire in a separate feed to the a/c around my generator panel.

But I am actually planning on bringing a vehicle without a muffler to the show!

You're safe from both at the next event Rob - no matter where you pit. 8)

Are you going to be there?

I thought of you over the 4th when I saw a pan-to-throttle body 1994/5 Mustang 5.0 engine at a lake house. Not interested in selling, it's going in his 65 GT "someday".

Trying like heck to make it. If I get the new motor installed and dyno'd in time I'll be there, otherwise I'll have to skip a long few months till MSRH - YIKES!!

My current motor was one of those $250 complete TB to oil pan deals, lasted two events lol. Next one is costing quite a bit more than that - UGH. Trying to join up with the 230/300 club is proving quite a drain.

Good thing I'm sitting on the beach in Daytona right now with a fresh bottle of "hooch" to keep me from feeling too much pain in the wallet lol.
