You will be the Lone Ranger for this event. I may make it, but not likely at this time. I have 2 final exams on the 7th.

I believe that is approx the same as last year. I'm going to be learning the track during practice Saturday morning... :)

They did offer adeal last year for I think $200....but still a rip off...but $300 is their normal price.

How many hours of track time? vs other tracks (trying to compare apples:apples)

It could be an open track for 8 hours straight and it would still be a rip off. If NASA is charging $300 for a 2-day event, how in the world is $300 for 1-day anything but rediculous.

That's how much Road America and several other tracks charge for an unlimited practice day. Not out of the norm. But it's usually only that much for practice days right before runoffs/nationals.

$300 for what, 3hrs of track time total vs $300 for 8hrs?

I can't make the test day because I've gotta travel all the way over to the damn place on Fri, but if I didn't I'd be writing the check to run on Fri. And I'm cheap.

The NOLA test day will be broken into three groups: Novice, advanced, and race car. Definitely will not be 8 hours of track time.

I don't know if my car will be ready in time, but if I go, I'll save my $300 on Friday and drive carts on Saturday night.

My point was even if it is a full 8 hours of track time, who cares? I use a test day to "test". Run a few laps, come in and make changes if necessary, and try again. Five 30 minute sessions is the same to me as open track for 8 hours, but I think I'm overly cheap. ;^)
I'm with Mark, I'll save the money for karts Saturday night!!

Running the long course this time from what I've heard- the 2.75....

Karts on Saturday night are a blast- French Quarter on Friday night is just as fun! We are headed over on Wednesday- see y'all when you get there. Call or text me if you need anything or get lost! :-)

I registered yesterday.
Man, this is going to be tight to have time to look over the car. Gotta take it out of the trailer, then stick it right back in!

I started working on mine yesterday and found a completely worn out drivers side hub. I put 2 new hubs on the front, new front pads, cleaned wheels, and flipped tires.
Just need to change oil, finish up double-nutting the exhaust collectors, bleed brakes, and nut/bolt the car. Hope to get it done Sunday.
This 2-week turn around sucks!!!!

Damage report for CMC 65 looks like cracked X Pipe to be welded up, new pads all round and a dose of oil

I found another transmission and I going to pick it up today. Provided that it is a good one, I may still make NOLA.

Guys - I will not be at NOLA. Marshall will be the group lead for AI/CMC.
Sorry I cannot attend, but once again, my personal life is getting in the way of racing. I have an art project and a 6 page review on a work of art from a local museum due this week. I also have two final exams on the Tuesday after NOLA. Somewhere in there I gotta work a full time job, softball practice and games w/ the kids, so racing will be the one that slips off the "to do" list. The 2 week turn around completely sucks ass so that didn't help.
Good luck to all and shoot alot of video please!

Everyone has bailed on going with me this weekend, so I am going it alone.

I do have a hotel room there close to the track if anyone wants to share a room.
