Hey Guys!!

Can't wait to get back to the track in a few short weeks! Just wanted to let y'all know that on Friday night there will be a 3 hour enduro 6-9 pm. It's great practice for anyone planning on going to the 25 hour! Dave is still hammering out the price and as soon as he has it nailed down I'll post it on here.

See y'all soon!

Seriously? 6-9pm....can we use our streetcars that actually have headlights?! How about tow vehicles?

good grief....

EDIT: and tail lights....just read the CCR stuff dave posted.

X2 on Glenn's request.

As good as this is to know..... I want to know about the format Dave has planned for Sept TWS. He announced a big change a couple months back. It would be nice to know before arriving what that change is.

Matt, you're telling me you can't Aggie-engineer up a quick lightbar - assuming you'd actually run your car in an enduro to start with? It's not like stock Mustang or Camaro headlights even with nice aftermarket bulbs would be adequate for AI speeds in the dark, so you'd want additional light anyway...

Running TWS at night without lights is no problem, ask Liebbe

Chris is well qualified to answer any and all questions on the subject. Besides, it was really the fog that was troublesome.

Hey Guys!

Just heard from Dave and here is where things stand for TWS in Sept. He is going to nix Sunday morning qual in order to run a longer race. 35 minutes for R3 and 25 minutes for R4. The invert would still be R4. The only thing we need to hammer out is how we want to grid for R3 with no qual. If you recall- we had timing issues at MSRH earlier in the year and ended up drawing numbers out of a hat- y'all seemed to have fun with that and it really mixed up the grid. We can do that again or we can go with another option. We can use the finishing positions from Saturday's R2, we can use season points as they stand after R2 (someone would need to have a current points sheet), we can use order that your entry for the event was received (registration IS open). I'm open to other suggestions as long as they are fair to everyone.

Thoughts?

I'm up for drawing out of a hat since I won't be there Saturday (kiddos football games).

If there was a really tight battle for the points at the top of AI or CMC, this probably would be a highly debated decision. It worked great for the first of the season since everyone was at zero points.

Now... since there really isn't a tight race at the top... I am all for a random draw or another invert of R2.

I like the invert from R2 idea.

Well I could handle AI just fine. I could use your brothers lobsters toes for CMC. Probably less errors on the inverted grid if I did it as well.

We can't do an invert Tire race, that would suck. Otherwise, I might have to have a 'mechanical issue' in R2

Looks like I will be racing w/ you guys at this event. Finally got my car in the garage to try and take a look at my oil pressure issue (from the April TWS event). I suspected a faulting reading on the guage since 0 PSI at idle post race would cause alot more mechanical noise than I was hearing. I was also seeing 10 PSI or so at 5K.
Fired it up and the guage only showed about 15PSI at idle cold. Removed the sender and attached it to my airhose w/ the pressure set at 40. Plugged the sender back up to the guage and only got about 10PSI on the guage. Looks like it was reading a little low - 30 PSI low. I have a mechanical test guage I use for fuel and stuff like this. Connected it to the oil galley port and got 50PSI on it. Ordered a new sender ($30) and it will be here this week. Got a new set of tires in route as well.

Glenn, is your sender directly on the motor? If so, get a -4AN hose about 2' long or more and then install the electronic sender. The vibration and heat kills the autometer "bulb" sending units. I went through 3 or more with it threaded directly onto the motor. with the "leader", I had one last a couple years. Best way to do it is a mechanical gauge but those leak no matter what you do.

If you haven't already installed it, put the hose on it and you will be good to go. There is also less chance of breaking the "bulb" sender off the engine block.

The failed one had been in use since 2005. $40 spread over almost 9 years is ok with me.

Back on topic....did anyone ever figure out if there are "changes" to the weekend schedule...? I got two weekends to plan for surprises. Can a brother get a heads up?!
