I just watched the Nascar race. I about fell over when I heard they will be at TMS next weekend. I think I will cut off on 6 in Waco and go through Granbury to Weatherford to Decatur. How bad will that route be? We can't even think about 35w on Sunday. I don't think I will even try it on Friday.

We are taking 45 both ways. I hope it is better than 35 at Hillsboro. Google says it is 23 miles father to take 45 but I bet it will save an hour each way.

If you are driving from as far South as I am you have construction at Salado to almost Waco. On a regular weekend the traffic at Hillsboro is so bad it can take 20-30 minutes to get through "the split" and this weekend (certainly Sunday) it could take over an hour. I'm not taking a chance on IH35 at all. I'm jumping off at Belton or at least Waco.

Jerry, have you considered taking 183> 281 through Lampasas? I was thinking about going that way myself.

It's a little farther West but it may be the best way to go. I will not get on IH35 this weekend if I can help it.

It appeared they were removing the wall blocking the 2 lanes in Hillsborrow at the split this morning.

I never understood what the hell happened there. They built a new bridge and everything worked great....two lanes for West and two for East. Then after just a few weeks they tore it back up and went back to one lane for each.

I have been through there almost weekly since they did it and I can't tell either. My bet is something got engineered wrong and it is taking a while to resolve it.

I was told that the foundations for the bridge pillars started sinking to they had to go back underneath and build them up. I will probably cut up 171 around the west side of I-35. Although, I was told that Weatherford at 5:00 is hell.

We're going to get there a little after 9:00pm if somebody could save a spot for us.
