UPDATE: This is confirmed for 9am, Saturday the 11th at Late Model Racecraft. Please pre-fill your own copies of the dyno sheets and bring them with you. Also please bring cash! The RSVP list is below...

Anyone interested in a dyno the weekend before MSRH, specifically on Saturday the 11th at Late Model Racecraft like we did back in 2012?

Talked to Late Model Racecraft, its about $125/hr to rent their dyno. I'm guessing if we got 8-10 guys in on it we could get it all done in 4-5 hours for roughly $60-80/head.

RSVP list:
Pranav Patel
Kevin Jander
Wade Zimmer
Gary Hood
Gary Robertson
Wayne
David Francis

I just came here to ask about this. I just got off the phone with LMR about price as well.

I'd be down.

j/k - I figure if I need new wheels why not a new car?

I would be in if at all possible on the dyno - i'm probably down 25hp on you guys to go with the skinny wheels.

I don't need a logbook, but an Annual Inspection and Tech Inspection at this event would be AWESOME if there is someone official who could make it.

If I recall correctly, there is a pizza joint around there corner where a bunch of us ate in 2012. Basically walk over there so there is PLENTY of trailer/race car parking. We were completely done and eating pizza at 2:00 last time, and some people (like myself) got 6 pulls.

I will be available for annual CCR tech and series tech on the Friday of the MSR-H event.

That late model shop and their employees were on the new episode of street outlaws on discovery. They are a bunch of street racing punks. Or at least they didn't portray a good image on TV.

We've had great luck with them in the past. Don't believe everything you see on TV.

Updated the RSVP list with everyone that is "for sure" in; will check back in a few weeks since this is still over 6 weeks away.

I don't know about now, but in 2012 I thought they were very professional and accommodating for us. Clean shop with a nice dyno. Just my $.02

I've never met them. But from what was shown on TV they apparently are big into street racing and not afraid to bet $2k on a race. Not really someone I would support or give money to.

I'm one of the old farts that still thinks a 3rd gen carbureted F-body is cool... with 16's and 12 inch brakes. Should be a top 20 finisher : )

then don't go and dyno on your own....?

LMK if you guys end up needing some extras to make the #s work - can send some TTers your way....

edit: You know that "street racing" show happens on the same closed off airport taxiway ever week, right? "Reality" TV indeed.

Wade, I am an authorized Tech Shop....call me when the car is ready and print the forms. New process is I sign off on tech forms and you turn them into Ross for the sticker at the first event. Well, that was the way it was for 2013. Haven't heard about any changes. We should also be in Houston for first event. I can help knock out annuals if need be as I plan on being there early Friday.

That's correct, stickers are handed out though Tech only. I'll make sure to be at the dyno day with stickers and log books. I may even have a car to dyno......

Thanks.

Pranav, our pseudo event organizer, is in New York for God knows what reason. I am still planning for this to happen. In the past, we all showed up early, say 9:00am and it was first come, first served. Normally finish around 1-2:00. I'll text Pranav.

I tried calling a couple times today, their voicemail is full so i emailed. The appointment was set already, should get a final confirm when they are back in later this week. My original post is the latest list of everyone that has committed; 8 cars would be nice.

Guys, we got a BIG problem.

Called the shop today to confirm that we're still good to go for tomorrow, and the guy informed me that he is short staffed (only him at the shop) and cannot accomodate us. Apparently he has to run the front and is down the two guys needed to run the dyno (after confirming this 2 months, 1 month, and 10 days ago).

I emailed the guy there that set this all up to triple check that this isn't some sort of miscommunication, but it sounds like we just got screwed.

I'm checking with a few other shops in the area to see if there is any shot of use being able to run dynos tomorrow, looking slim but I'm hoping the 5 guys that have committed are willing to go out to Sealy or Humble tomorrow morning if those options materialize.

Can anyone pass this info along to Francis, Wayne, and Kevin if they don't read this, emailing them now, dont have numbers.
