I should be there in SI. Need to get an old registration rolled over.

What's the deal with enduro? Anyone point me to a resource on how the race goes, rules, etc? Am too stupid to find on my own.

Answering own question: NASA Enduro rules (http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/enduro.pdf).

So now that the track is going to be leveled, I would hope the gate guy won't pull the $5 improvement fund requirement.

If the guy asks for $5 I'll just remind him "you know this place is getting leveled right?" Haha

It will now be a "home" improvement fund requirement. ;)

DE1 & 2 already wait listed, Garages long since sold out... I'd say it's looking like it.

I went to sign up today and noted that the fee for the enduro was increased by $100 for sign-ups in April. I suspect this is not an april fools joke. The next time such an increase is planned somebody should let people know. Makes me want to say FI.

sorry Frank, but:
http://nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=128005

"Registration is open! $499 if you register before March 31st, $599 after that. Includes up to 5 drivers. There is also a 4 hour option (2 pm- 6 pm) $299 before March 31st. $399 after that. This includes 3 drivers." (older info, but...)

reg page:
http://nasaproracing.com/event/1767

"Pricing:
8 Hour Enduro Entry (up to 5 drivers) - $499 if entered in March. $599 if entered in April.
4 Hour Enduro Entry ( First four hours, up to 3 drivers) - $199 if entered in March. $299 in April. "

How do you usually get your information about NASA stuff? Maybe we can bug Will to make sure that info goes down that channel too...

regardless, $100 bullet dodged if you get signed up this week :)

regardless, $100 bullet dodged if you get signed up this week :) When Sean signed up the Orange is Fast! team early it was at the higher price... which became the discount... set to return to the normal price.

Anybody want to help some "rookies" with fuel in the 4hr? I'm more than happy to hang around after we drive and help for the balance of the 8hr if anybody needs/wants that. Except Craig... saying I spilled a "little" fuel in the dark last year is not entirely accurate. Ok, I'll even help Craig again.

potential Cheatin' Bastard (tm) practice this weekend with Chin

spotted some NASA-TX Blitz group racers talking about running TWS with Chin this weekend and seemed like a good deal for those looking for testing time:
"Extra track time.
I am signed up for Chin Motorsports event at TWS this weekend coming and just saw the roster only 4 cars in the advanced group.
They have a 3 run group format 30 on 1 hour off rotates all day.
That's like private rental but cost is only 200.00 for the two day event with a 50.00 one time membership fee.
Not affiliated in any way just some great practice time two weeks before our race. "

I did hear they will running CCW though unless there are enough NASA signups to warrant a change to CW. Last I heard they needed 4 more NASA people to run and request CW and I spotted at least 2 that were interested and said they'd sign up so that just leaves a couple more to get it flipped to CW to make it a great NASA test weekend...

I won't be there, but I did drop ole' #28 off at the paint and body shop yesterday. My buddy Jamie, that come with me often, and his brother have opened a shop that does just about anything car related and we worked out a deal for them to completely re-paint my car.

If anyone has one cheap.. I could use a better driver side front fender. The spare one I have is broke at the very bottom, but useable.

My car will be there. I've got it setup for a few test drives, and I will put it on the CMC entry list.

I do NOT want to bring the car back with me - it stays in TX with the new buyer for $8500. Find me a buyer.

Cool-oh so close to 40 total if a couple of the SI cars signup as expected and 20 in CMC. I think we need one more in CMC to get more Toyo Bucks. Who else is on the fence? I have already tried to get Mulder to come out.

Just off the phone with Phil's since I already know the 55 will be on RR's so I figure I will bring a big can of whoop for the rustangs. Tears will be shed like the last event at TWS but not for the same reason. Mosty is going to be driving like a nervous Dad on his first trip home from the hospital with "Baby On Board" so the podium is wide open for anyone who wants it. The Joker won't be scared of Little Wayne below in the 70.

Smitty-I may need some transport of stuff from PST, too.

Last year it was somewhere around 4-6pm. Think it was 6?

BryanL
04-16-2014, 09:19 AM
Mulder said he checked the date but already had a prior family commitment. I think he will be back sometime and bet he makes TWS in the fall. Be good to get Penny back on track, too. Who knows about Fernandez-I can't remember if he said he was here or not. If he is in Texas then he better be there with his car on track. Really need to find a way to get 20 out for CMC.

Frank-start checking all 30 subforums to find out Thursday gate open and closing time.

kbrewmr2
04-16-2014, 09:45 AM
They're working on finalizing gate times (Thur, Fri, Sat, etc) last I talked with Will yesterday. When I know (or spot it) I'll drop it here too because I like you guys.

(ps - It'll be dropped in the Texas section, not *that* much to wade through).

Does anyone know what time the gates will be open on Thursday???

Complete times will be posted in the Welcome Letter (only ONE place to look :)), but for those chomping at the bit, we have arranged for the following:

Thursday 6PM-10PM (RV at 6PM and again later)
Friday open till Midnight
Saturday open till Midnight

Of course if anyone knows any off duty night shift acclimated LEO's that would like to work the Midnight to 6AM shift, we can have 24 hour access.

Questionable now.
Fired the car this morning for the first time.
Got on the dyno around 1pm and found an external leak of the head gaskets. leaking down from where the block and heads meet on the driver front.
FEL-1074's will be here in the AM, but I don't know if I have time to fix it as I'll be in Tyler Sunday and Softball all day Sat w/ my girls.
Tight motor.... made 245/295 w/ a 35mm plate. Before MSR-C it made 254/307 w/ the same plate.

GlennCMC70
04-18-2014, 05:59 PM
Pulled the valve cover and exhaust manifold and some of the head bolts were not 100% tight. Put it back together and it still leaks. It only leaks if it is at or above 210 degrees. Below that it seems to stop.
I have good gaskets on the way, but I don't feel like massing w/ it.
Think I'm gonna chance it and get through TWS and then blow it apart again sometime in may.

Started the car and almost everything looks normal...even drove it up and down the block a couple of times. Its got a pretty bad leak at the passenger side exhaust manifold to Ypipe connection (where it had been leaking before and as a matter of fact near where the ypipe had cracked). Shouldnt be too big a deal to stop at an exhaust shop on Friday morning and have a new section of ypipe made.
