At least sign up for a garage (if you want one) sooner than later, as they appear to be going quickly.

I signed up for this event along with NOLA and ECR back in July, just wanted to beat the rush. Snagged garage space also. Plan is to hang at the track this time, installing A/C in the trailer. Really screwed up my plans with NOLA cancelling. 4 events between now and years end with Lemons in Nov and WRL in Dec. Busy busy busy. Heading to TWS Friday for OTD.

Do they have an instructors run group? If so what are the passing rules? How many sessions?

JJ

blk96gt

I haven't been on track since the beginning of May. It's no fun when it's hot (plus my car has been in pieces for most of the summer).

They have an instructor run group and it's pass anywhere with a point by. You can get at least 4 sessions/day in. If you can find the time/energy you can run up to 8 per day. The run groups are Red(Instructor)/White - White/Yellow - Yellow/Blue Solo - Blue/Blue Solo - Green.

Technically you can run in both the Red/White and White/Yellow sessions. You can do the same if you just sign up as a student in the White group.

I backed out of OTD tomorrow at TWS, just way too much rain in the forecast. No rain tires so why waste money and time. I did sign up for OTD before the NASA event in Oct. Is anyone else in this group doing any endurance events? I ran the POS Lemons Fox body at WRL in June, we like it very much. Better format, better cars, some better drivers (damn Pinata ran into us with <2 hrs to go), fewer crap cans, more race cars. We have made some improvements to the Fox in preparation for WRL at TWS in Dec.

Is anyone else in this group doing any endurance events?Various combos of folks have - in CMC and AI as well as some crap-can stuff.

But back on topic... OCTOBER TWS! Register early... register often. Probably some supersize opportunities for people with well sorted/unsorted cars and overfunded tire budgets.

Well I may end up having to back out of this event, not sure I'll be able to get everything finished up before the race weekend. I didn't get to work on the car much (or at all) this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to get everything done next weekend. I need to get the wiring harness back in, bolt up the dash support and steering column, install seats, dash, fenders, doors, bumper, and make sure I didn't do anything stupid in the process. Also need to bleed the brakes and change the oil. In theory it should be pretty straight forward, but nothing ever goes like I planned. I may get some time this week to start getting this crap together, but I probably won't be that lucky.

So. Casey and I just chewing the TWS fat over a beer. As it turns out for us V8 Supercars fans, Saturday night at TWS around 7pm is the start of the Bathurst 1000 at Mt Panorama. The 168 lap race ought to finish around 2am our time Sunday morning, just in time for an early night before racing Sunday. So. We have the live feed V8 Supercars access, internet feed to the iPad and a HDMI output, what we need is a HDMI projector and a recently washed large white sheet.

Who's in???!!

Unloaded the car today to install new rear pads that I planned to install at NOLA. Went to start the car and the starter would not spin. Pulled it, same deal. Pulled the motor off and free'ed it up some and tested it and it worked. Put it back on and no spin. Installed a new one and all is well.
See you guys Friday unless someone finds out how to get in Thursday.

Had to make a new brake line when I kinked one. Bled the system and seemed fine. Drove it up and down the alley and seemed like it didn't stop right. Not sure if it was the pad being cold or was either booster or master. Replaced both master and booster today and it feels the same. I have no clue.. It's getting it loaded up the way it is. Finger's crossed.

There will be a $50 late fee starting 7 days before the event on 10/3/2014. Think of it as $50 off to sign up early instead of waiting until the last minute to sign up. This includes at-track registrations. Folks signing up earlier will help us get information out earlier and plan run-groups better.

Hmmm, guess that doesn't work.

MikeP99Z
10-07-2014, 03:03 PM
Will has been traveling. He's on his way back to Texas from VIR. The letter will go out tonight with the schedule. Garage assignments will likely be emailed tonight or tomorrow. Based on the entries, we have been working with arranging run groups.

Our group should have around 33 cars. See front page of this thread for entry list. Blitz has around 50 cars. Our Saturday morning warmup with Blitz will be fun =).

As far as land grab, maybe those of you getting there tonight/tomorrow morning with enclosed trailers could put a few trailers side by side on the north side of Garage 3 and as soon as half a dozen of us without garages get there, the enclosed can be put in the back 40 and we can all be somewhat together??

The real issue is a few think they can take whatever spot in the garage they want instead of the one given to them. If it rains like it is forecast to, some of those spots will be lakes. I have been stuck in those spots a few times when people went where they wanted instead of where they were assigned......I'm just saying.

I forgot we can't set-up in a garage until Friday afternoon unless you are signed up for Friday morning practice.
