Thoughts on:

1. At the MSR-C event (weekend of 13-15 March)
2. Offsite prior to MSR-C

Based on the consensus, we will plan further.

at the Austin NASA banquet.

I really think y'all should attend and give it a chance, and show the other groups how it's done AI/CMC style. This is the first time we're trying a full banquet.

Matus Family used to have a "last year banquet and trophy presentation" on Saturday night at the first Race weekend...Seem to remember Covini purchasing "talent" for that event....LOL!

Happy to do this wherever the group prefers, but MSRC would be my choice.

Out; probably. Go with the majority and if it's not at the NASA event I might have a chance to make it.

Sorry guys not making it to Cresson this year :(

If at Cresson when would we do it? Friday night so it doesn't conflict with the NASA Saturday night?

Brian beat me to the punch. I'd vote for Friday night for the banquet since some folks have RV's and large legions of children (Craig... cough... cough...) that make transportation off-site difficult.

Barring any weather challenges, we could have it in the paddock and put the video up on the side of someone's trailer.

Thoughts? Ideas on food choices?

I'm good with either Friday or Saturday night. I'll be a little greedy and ask for Saturday night though. I will most likely have Comp School Friday night and also it would be good to include anyone that shows up either late Friday night or Saturday morning.
Also, no offense, but as mentioned it would be nice to get back to the AI/CMC Saturday night dinners. I know last event there were quite a few of us that had a very limited dinner and we showed up at 6:30 Sat night.

I don't have a grill or smoker I could bring but would be willing to man one for Saturday evening.

So where did this end up?

FYI...... We have about 5 or so guys coming down from RM to run CMC (1 in AI) to run with us at MSR-C.

If you guys are doing this at Cresson let me know and I'll bring the smokers. I have 3 racks of ribs, a pork loin and a brisket just beggin' to be cooked...but they can keep beggin' until mid March :)

We still doing this, right? Looking at the forecast, it looks like a low of 45*. Will we/do we want to try reserve the room where they used to do drivers meetings?

For showing the video, does anyone have a good setup of projector and speakers? I may be able to borrow a projector from work, but they aren't the greatest.

Gary,
The plan is to target Saturday night. We will eat at the NASA sponsored dinner and then kick back with brews/liquor to hand out awards, watch the video, and BS.

For showing the video... Congrats on getting it done Gary. Makes the drive up even more tempting. Looking forward to the Jerry Award Winning 2014 AI/SI/CMC Texas Year In Review.

I'll have the Golden Helmet with me and looking forward to it (hopefully) going to a new owner. Looking forward to the video, too. Already warned my wife who will be there that it might be graphic for the 24.

If folks want to post up drink suggestions so I know what to buy. NASA is covering the food and the slush fund is covering alcohol.

Power steering pump blew up on Lap 1. It would intermittently kick from no power steering to power. It happened to kick in at the wrong time and pitched the car. The adventure sheared the entire front splitter off the car. And then a few laps later the shifter came loose which caused problems getting into 5th gear.

Casey, Mark and I spent the next 12 hours finding/fixing the pump, collecting parts from the corner workers (the aluminum tray was in one piece and amazingly flat), drilling, hammering, bending, ziptieing, pop-riviting, cussing, and drinking. Just when we finished at 1am, the sky let loose and flooded the canopies, one of which collapsed on Mark's car. We managed to keep it from breaking the rear glass, but had to slice it apart to release the water. Then we worked over the other canopies, including Corey's motorhome with broom handles to keep them from collapsing. Bed around 3am so that I would be sharp for early morning champ race.

I could always use a few driving lessons from Corey though.

At least tell me you already uploaded the '14 to vimeo as private so you just have to flip the switch on Saturday night.
