Rob Liebbe

I'll be there as well - chasing Mike Bell around the track and trying to stay away from the two Michaels.

Family will come for some of it, but not all of it.

I'm toying with the idea of camping at the track as well - weather dependent.

Marshall and I will be getting a covered spot. They worked great last time, I recommend them.

i have a big trailer and it serves the same purpose. last time i parked in the back 40 to allow us all enough room to stick together and was left out there w/ myself and Mitch, Steve, and Nick. if you guys could let me know ahead of time, i could park up close to you guys. you know, up by the Bat Cave.

Those of us with trailers will have to plan very carefully to park up by the awnings....last time, there were only a couple ways to make it work and it wasn't very efficient. JC was complaining the entire time!!!

I liked the spot I had last time as it was close to electric (JB, I don't need the genset now!) and was close to speakers to hear the call to grid.

At this point, it doesn't look like I will make it to Houston. :(

My test session last weekend didn't go as planned, and I exploded a clutch and axle bearing.

The clutch coming apart cracked the bell housing and not sure it can be fixed. So I may be looking for a new bell housing.

I am dropping the rearends off at the shop today to make 1 good one out of two. I am also dropping off the flywheel to be resurfaced and try to find someone that can weld cast aluminum.

I am still working to try and make it, but I just don't see everything working out.

mitchntx

James, LAW MS has a bell housing you can use.

When you find a one, just send it over here.

well thats the spot i was shooting for. :P

Well, I was parked in front of those garages which weren't complete yet so that spot is probably out of the question. The problem of getting up to the fence along the hot pit was that the truck and trailer were too long and would hang out over the yellow line. If we can arrange to pull in at angles, say a 45....we could make that work....it's just that your tow vehicle will more or less be pinned in. I am going down early on Friday morning to arrive around noon and spread out. I will see if I can rope off an area or if we are all getting there at the same time we can just do a land grab.

You already said 4 and if you want the AI battle to come down to the wire, you MUST have 4. It will make for better writing in the press over the offseason!!!

Not razzing you here Clifton but please don't fuck me again by changing the expected race count.

I wouldn't mind 30 minute races for the 2 Toyo events and then 20's for 2 and 4 though!

Waco Racer

I was referring to - just because you would only get 1 40 minute race it doesn't necessarily mean that you would get to leave before lunch.

There will be 4 races at this month's event.

The only thing I would worry about hitting your windshield is YOUR hood!!

David, put it in there 100 times...doesn't bother me a bit. Champions have their moments too! :P

As for the wing, I think it is going to help me a bunch at houston...last time there the car was wicked loose and I have since figured out a way to get more front grip. I will probably crank the angle of attack up a little try to keep the rear end planted this time. I also plan on running on 8 cylinders this go round!!!

I think we will be pulling out of DFW (Richardson) at about 9-9:30am. That should put us in H-Town by 3'ish.

I'll be there Friday nite and camping at the track.
It would be great if we could all pit together...but understand that the bat-tents are pretty cool.

I've been pulled in every direction since Mid-Ohio, so CMC#2 will be picking up where she left off at the Nationals. Still hasn't been unloaded off the trailer and likely won't be until Friday nite.....nice. (Hope I still have brake pads.)

Since I didn't have anything for the Jeff & Glenn show...I don't think I'll have too much for them again with zero changes to the car. Last time at MSRH, Verner & I had home track advantage for a few wins...but the fast guys have all been there now. Should be interesting...

The tents were pretty cool last time. It did separate those with large rigs, unless they can get there early and line up along the hot pit wall. Michael and I are going to share a stall. They can accomodate two cars as long as you don't need all the doors open at once. 8)

I talked with Michael and Team "Mosty Brothers' Racing" will be pulling out of DFW (75&635) at approx 9:30. If anyone wants to meet up to caravan, call either my cell (940)736-9043 or Michael (972)897-1424 to coordinate. We're going to tow at a steady 70mph to help preserve my Exploder.

I'm pumped... car's on all 4's again and ready to rumble... Let's just keep the rubber side down!

I'll try for the area by the middle garage and parking slots. There's a nice little triangular area that worked really well this past weekend for easy-ups and a couple of trailers plus a bunch of cars. And you could hear the PA most of the time. No electric, though.

Sound okay? Or does anyone have a better idea?

JB,

Don't be jealous. I'll save you a spot, too, if you're coming. You can park where my imaginary trailer was gonna go.

And if you're worried about the extra practice I'm going to get, don't. I'm still going to suck. Can you say " Oversteer" ? My car is like a giant kart right now. It's so tail happy that I'm drifting 4 & 5, whether I want to or not. I was instructing with BMWCCA last weekend and they thought it looked cool, but I don't think it's very efficient. A blast, in a way, to drive, though. Gonna dial some bump in and out and maybe remove the rear bar. See if that makes a difference.
