Clifton,
Thanks for giving us nice spacing between sessions. I personally thank you for not stacking HPDE 1 before a qualifying session. That really shook me up in May!

The HDPE 1 and race group spacing is very accomodating (25-30 minutes minimum). I really appreciate that.

Leave by 4pm... home by 10:30pm!

Hi Clifton,
Please clarify for the group where those 3 or 4 cars will be starting in relation to the Group 5 cars in each of our races. We've got 2 championships (AI & CMC) that will come down to the last lap of the last race depending on where those "3 or 4 cars entered in Group 8" are started.

Just trying to prevent the ship from hitting the sand.

PS- Mid-Ohio was a great example of how a good/bad start can affect the race results.

Cool.
Will those 5 be starting:
a) in front of
b) behind
c) within AI/CMC based on qual times?

When we invert, will those 5 be starting:
a) in front of
b) behind
c) within AI/CMC based on qual times?

I'm not trying to be a Matt White, I'm just trying to get it sorted out days before we get there so there is no question on the weekend. I don't want to interfere with the race director's duties and want to take your lead!

Hi Misty,
I don't have an AI windshield banner but you can go to www.fordpower.net/store and order one for $15 delivered to your door.

I hear Boudy is getting into the vinyl business so maybe next year we'll have an in-house supplier for such needs. If you need anything else before this weekend, call my cell @ 713-252-3465.

OK...the Race Director has spoken.
Group 8 will be starting in front of Group 5 in each of the four races...so the order will be Group 8...AIX...AI...CMC.

We'll add that to the driver meeting notes.
Thanks, Clifton!

Hey Todd, my left nut has some sweat on it...want to lick it off? ...just keeping the tradition of speaking my mind... State your point or question and be done, no need to point fingers are pour salt in this group's wounds...some of us don't need bad attempts at humor to get our point accross.

I could care less either way as long as Pete isn't running with us in the Lotus...you CAN'T see that fugger. Also, the GPC guys need to keep in mind the points battles in AI/CMC so as not to affect them. I know Mixon and Jay are aware of this but I don't know the other drivers...

thanks and drive through...

LOL. Hey Matt, the one thing I think you have to admit is that YOU and I are the two biggest bitchers and complainers on this board - period.

As such, we have earned some well-deserved reputations as a.) complainers and b.) whiners and c.) malcontents. I'll stop there as my ego won't allow me to bring up all the lovely other descriptions for the likes of us.

The one thing WE can't do as bitchers is call out someone else who accurately describes our behavior, there's no solid ground for rebuttal - believe me. BTDT, got the scars. Don't take it personal.

Besides, it's all for fun anyway - right?

See ya in a few days!

Completely agree with you Mr. Bell, however, I think we BOTH have figured out it doesn't work, is counter productive and have decided to let go. Just looking for the rest of the group to figure out the same thing and start racing again... We have more important shit to worry about right?!

Saturday and Sunday driver meetings are mandatory. If you miss one without discussing it with the Series Director ( first ), or the Race Director ( second....but go to the Series Director first ), your qual time is tossed. It's been that way since 2003.

A competitor has never been told ( in Texas ) they can't race if they miss a mandatory drivers meeting.

Matt - we all know you have allot going on in your personal life, but.....Todd deserves significantly more respect than you show him.

I dunno whose rule books we've been using in the past - or which one Matt is reading - but I believe we now have a committment from the Race Director to follow the CCRs where possible - here's what they say about meeting attendance:

23.1.4 Meeting Attendance
All participants are required to attend all mandatory meetings. If a driver is unable to attend, and cannot send a representative, he/she must notify the Race Director before the meeting. Some latitude will be given in hardship cases. Failure to attend, or make proper notification, will result in a warning. A second offense during the same season will result in loss of qualifying times and/or race position. See Endurance Racing Series
rules for specific penalties for missing the Enduro driver’s meeting.

Marshall, I'll represent you, so you've covered - but I'd still talk to Clifton and Todd as well.

Just to let you guys know how it is going to go this weekend. When you come to tech for the sign off in your logbook and get your tech sheet, you will not get a tech sticker. You will hold on to the tech sheet and bring it with you to the drivers meeting. At the meeting we will trade sheets for stickers. Anyone who doesn't make the meeting must find Clifton to get your stickers to get on track. This should fix some of the attendance problems that we are having at the drivers meeting. The meeting will be in the tech area sat. morning. Check your schedules for times.

Also, Jonathan will be at the track between 3 and 4 on friday. I will not be there until later. I have no idea at this time about scales on friday. It just depends on what time I get there and how many want/need to weigh.

Thanks,
Ryan

Let me add that it is not this group that I have had problems with non-attendance. Todd and Adam have gone above and beyond to get this group to the meetings and it is greatly appreciated.

I have made arrangements to talk with Marshall on Friday night. He is an instructor and has other duties during the scheduled meeting. If there are any others that absolutely cannot make the meeting let me know and we can work something out.

I thought providing the tech stickers at the driver's meeting was a brilliant idea. Only way to get on track was to get the sticker!

Kudos to whomever thought of this!

99% of our guys have always been at the meetings, but it's just good to know that everyone in our group is hearing the same message and are in tune.

That works well, glad to see that it's been implemented here. The NASA Mid-Atlantic schools that I attended required students to present a pass in order to get on track every session - you got it from the classroom instructor...

Lewis, you must have been in Dan Unkefer's class. He teaches at Southeast, and brought that from Mid atlantic.

They also use different color wristbands for different run groups. An instructor who is also racing may have 3 or 4 wristbands, and the grid folks wont let the car/driver out unless it all matches.

Yup, I've sat in a number of classes with Dan leading the show - MR2 stories and all. :) He's a class act.
