Hmmmm....if it was at 9010 @ 6:30 today per Lob Riebbe's observation.
And...per my observations just now, it was at 9030 at 9PM.
That's 20 hits per 2.5 hours.

<<Let's see if we can now hook Professor Pedersen on this one.>>

Assuming a consistent hit per hour between now and the banquet, will we be able to achieve 10,000 views on Jan 13????

Is there an engineer in the house???

I checked it out. Some pics of Boudy and Al in there as well as the trophy girl pics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mqSJvoGVKU

How do we get copies of those pictures?

Wow!
Self promotion.
Tough to not be cynical here.

A's for effort.
I hope to see more.

If you really want hits (or more likely the momentum that comes with highly viewed content), the best way is to post something *mildy* controversial.
I posted my Mustang vs Exige video a year or so back as an experiment (and I admit, leveraging the expected response to that stupid Top Gear Exige vs Mustang episode), I got 50,000 hits on streetfire (w/ no self-promotion) in about 2 days - for a long time it was one of the most actively commented/watched videos.
I produced the video itself in a VERY poor quality on purpose to see if the quality would detract from the conversation...it did not. Most people just wanted to "get into it" with each other and I provided the fodder.

Same theory applies to a lot of the community (vis a vie "Web 2.0") based aspects of the internet like blogs.

Now, frankly the CMC2-gate stuff might turn off some people, but it probably would be the sort of thing that would attract a lot of *attention* and on the web, like other forms of advertising, Eyes = Promotion.

Personally, I think this group has enough history, wit and energy to be highly visible w/o slipping down the negative side of controversy into conflict and cynicism but in the end if you want advocacy you have to live with the largely untainted opinions that come with it.

I do a LOT of internet strategy work with some of the top brands in the world...on another thread I offered my services in the off season to help build this thing up - offer still stands...just want to do my part to help grow this *thing*
