got my long block back home @ 11pm tuesday. not sure i'll have enough time to get it in, much less get it broke in, and get it dyno'ed.
i sure hate to go out this way, but time just got short on me. i may drop by the track, but i'm not sure. i'm sick to my stomach just thinking about missing my first race since i started back in 2005. this would mean 53 consecutive NASA TX races comes to an end.

Well, it was a short window of oppurtunity to get it done. But like we discussed, it's better to get it done right the first time as opposed to hurrying and having another problem.

I understand your reluctance, especially after what was witnessed in Houston, but you are welcome to pilot ole #9 for the weekend. I don't think you are a kamikazzee driver.

He's in Mississippi. So his help is out of the question.

However, if you would stop eye-ing Megan and come over to help ...

Glenn and I thrashed on it all day. It's a HUGE hurdle to overcome.

Glenn might still be there in ole #9.

if i showed and if i won a race, i would have beat you guys while breaking in a new motor. taking it easy and handing you guys your ass's would just not be right. i dont want to take the chance of any finger pointing. if the motor loosens up or something and makes an extra 5hp or so, and all of a sudden i'm toast for cheating.

mitchs car is just not ready.
anyone wanna let me drive their ford?

i did fab up a hamster wheel. wonder how many hamspers ='s 230rwhp?

FYI guys ...

I just put the phone down after talking with Glenn. He's gonna be pissed that I posted this, but you dudes need to back of a bit. He's not a happy camper.

Yes he pulled an all-nighter Tuesday night and I went over Wednesday during the day to help him finish. Got it done and cranked about 1pm.

Motor sounded fine, although there was some valve train noise. A couple nagging problems, though.

It had a nice puddle of oil coming from the back side of the motor somewhere and it was idling erratically, going from 900 rpm to 1500 rpm and holding.

He went to MSR this morning and rode around the track to try and get it broken in a bit and the ECM to learn.

Took it to Speedtek for a dyno cert.

Apparently, the high idle was some sort of intake leak. First pull the motor leaned out really bad and he thinks it burned a piston. Lots of smoke and it's running on 7 cylinders.

He's probably home by now and he's gonna unload and pull a valve cover to see if it's something easy.

If it dropped a valve, I have a set of used heads he can borrow. But he's not a happy camper.

Lousy poker face, Mitch. Varner played that too much last year.

Look ... no poker here. It's not good at the Landrum squanderosa ...

Still waiting to hear what the verdict is ...

I'm working a weird early morning shift and am getting ready to hit the sack.

Varner ruined it for everyone last year....nice try, but I'm not taking the hook. ;)

Speaking of, what is Team Renegade up to?

Kidding and bluffing aside, I'm signed up, but Bev's Dad has been readmitted to Scott & White in Temple. Need ya'lls prayers for James Butler.

Status iffy,
