I'm maybe in for CMC. It depends on how fast the new engine gets here.
I plan to be there but I have a lot of work to do on the car. Thought I was just changing out the front strut and installing new Stoptech rings but I have at least one ball joint with a lot of play in it. I'm guessing at least 1/4". I ordered two new lower control arms.
JJ
Plan is to make it.
Car ran great at Houston on 4 year old tires... new shoes on the way. Fresh brake pads so no T1 Porsche "interactions" expected.
Well... some backstory; it wasn't just a donut and terribly preventable. Not me, but it was in our group. The interesting thing, to me, is the first tire I ever drove a 4th gen Camaro/racecar/that I built was at MSRH on a test day and had multiple 911s parked in the corners.
However, ECR is also the track where at one point I looked in the mirrors and thought, "I've never been hit by a Ferrari before..."
I'm IN.
I am in!
I am in...
If I can't finish the car I will move the entry to Hallett.

Lower control arm bolt holes.

Weld in some washers and send it;! Lol
I'm ALMOST ready to put my new engine in, but now I'm delayed as I wait for flywheel bolts. (I'm learning a lot about Mod motors this week).
Right now, I'm on schedule to get my second COVID vaccine on Thursday, and then I'll be spending all weekend installing the motor while battling vaccine symptoms.
This should go well.
Entry list is updated on the first page with 11 so far in CMC. We have an awesome field so far, who else is planning to make it?
It's official, I'm in.
Glad to hear it is back running!! Looking forward to the weekend!!
The Orange #82 hit the dyno today and it's now all loaded up and ready for a late Thursday evening arrival at ECR. Hopefully Dan gets registered soon so we're all ready to race. We will need to get it through tech when we get there.
Looking forward to a good weekend.

Awesome news, will be great to have Dan back out there!!!
I see we have a paddock map laid out. I'd like to request a location at the very back of the AI/CMC area. I'll be borrowing an RV for the weekend, and it has THE WORLD'S LOUDEST GENERATOR.
If I can put the RV at the very east end of the AI/CMC area, with its nose facing south, I can face the generator away from everyone. We'll all be happier as a result.
I'll be arriving Friday afternoon/evening.

As a light sleeper in a trailer hopefully the Gen can be turned off during the night at some point. Great job getting the car back together.
Will be nice to see Dan back on track.
CMC continues to be the second largest class-no lets get some others back as I know we have some like Pranav planning to make Hallett.
Thanks! It was a good learning experience to swap the engine. I hope it'll hold together, I've only been able to test it at low speed in my neighborhood.
At night, if there's no need for AC, the generator of doom will be shut down. The weather report is showing lows in the 50's, so there's good odds that I'll be able to do this.
On the other hand, depriving the competition of sleep seems like a winning strategy.
I'm actively recruiting people. If we can beat the big lie "Spec Miata is the cheapest way to race" I think we can make CMC even bigger.
