Scott James, you should stop out and watch some racing. Pitt is less than two hours from Dover.

You should try to make the haul Josh. It would be nice to see all the regions represented. Besides that it is just a bunch of fun racing with new people.

Check the fuel pump ground. If it is a GM the fuel pump ground is right at the floor to the left of the drivers seat. It is a very weak little ring with a self tapping bolt.

IF our May Mid Ohio event is cancelled I think I will head down to Oklahoma for this event. I dont know if Any other Midwest guys will come.

I have had Goodyear Endurance tires on my trailer since they first came out. (Jan 2016). They have been fantastic. First set of trailer tires I have ever worn out and will get a new set this...
Robin Burnett who won Spec Iron is very familiar with Mid Ohio. He is a regular in our region and has raced Mid O hundreds of times. If anybody was going to get a spec iron car around Mid O fast it...
I am not representing Texas but look forward to seeing you there Al.

His statement here makes no sense to me......"Tires are by far the most expensive part of racing in general and that should not be the case in a spec class"
Freshness of Tires are one of the few...
I lived through CMC to CMC2 and back to CMC. I don't EVER want to do that again.
Cost is everything. The COTA event was too expensive. Just my opinion
I have done several LS conversions and put together a couple LS cars from scratch. I have a excel spread sheet of all the parts needed to convert a LT1 fourth gen to a LS1. It does not have...
I had success by welding a small bead on the end of the axle and grinding or "tuning" it so size allowing a small amount for heat expansion. Ran those axles for years.

You are smart buying a car to start this hobby.
There are 3 major learning curves you will encounter
1 Building a car and figuring out reliability
2 Learning to drive
3 Learning to race.

We have 3 third gens in our region running carbed 350s. They all make good numbers and are stupid simple. The 350 with a LT1 T56 makes a pretty solid setup. Bryan White has been running this setup...

I think You misunderstood me. Yes a stock LS air cleaner is legal. I am referring to the cutting out of the bottom of the stock air cleaner housing to allow forced air from the radiator...

I am not the guy making the call at the nationals. But if we were having this discussion in the Great lakes region and I am the guy making the call, It would be illegal with this sentence...
There will be three of us from the Great Lakes region arriving late Wednesday. It would be nice to have the CMC in close proximity. Having never been to COTA I have no idea what to expect.

It is all based on the crank pulley. The Truck has the furthest offset followed by the F body and then the y body. the F body and Y body pulley s are close but different. The truck is much different...
At Watkins Glen in 2016 they had two sets of scales as well and you were assigned which scales you were supposed to use.
Bob
We have had similar issues in the Great Lakes Region.
The way we have been operating so far this year is the Compliance form MUST be submitted by the series director or some NASA official during...

On GM cars the easiest thing to do to wire the wipers is trace all the wires from the wiper motor back to the connector under the dash. This connector then goes to the steering column and...
Here is a simple test to see if you need wipers. Put rainX on your daily driver. Then on a rainy day follow a semi on the freeway and get up into the spray coming off the truck. Then shut off your...
Well I found 1 T56 LT1 input shaft and it is in great shape. I cannot find the other. However I will have another spare in a couple months when I convert another LT1 T56 to LS1 . So who needs one...
I think I have several good LT1 T56 input shafts. I have converted several Lt T56s to LS1 T56s and I am using them as Clutch alignment tools. I can check tonight to see exactly what I have if you are...
I would not use attendance at National events as the barometer of CMC health. I would look towards each region and judge it on a region to region basis. CMC is a very budget minded class and it is...
