I think Glen was right, probably a timing chain. Best guess right now is that the valves are OK, but if you guys have other experience I am very interested to hear about it.

Imodium got me to work (I have no vacation or sick time), but I am still pretty weak. I was getting pretty dehydrated too. I seem to be more or less back on track now. I don't know how you made it...
