I watched that last week. Very cool. Richard has not even sat in it since he got out of it after the last race he ran in it.

These were the highlights amongst trips to various race shops in Gasoline Alley for behind the scenes tours compliments of my mate Tom's (crew chief) connections, it was his 30th 500 race.

The race itself didn't start well for us, into the wall on lap one, thanks Sage... Sato's in car tells a different story to the ABC13 commentators. But the boys changed a bent toe arm, 4 tires and a mirror to rejoin 3 laps down. Working strategy on yellows we got back to the lead lap with around 20 to go in 28th position. The finish battle was epic between Montoya, Power and Dixon but what you might of missed was Sato working the 14 through the field to finish 13th. A great drive.

Best memory was AJ waddling down pit lane after Sage (who just finished making a dick of himself) to "whoop that boy's ass"
Too cool! Can't wait to hear more at Hallett. Missed the race taking the kids to see flooded Lake Texoma. Still on my bucket list but being in the garage/pits for those days has to be like a dream.

    What's the deal with a 318 Chebby? I've heard of a 262, 265, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 383, and 400 small block but never a 318. Poked out 302?

3.37" stroke is awfully random. I wonder if the engine builder stroked the 283 crank? Either way that's pretty unique.

So I figured why my car was down a cylinder at TWS... The intake lifter in cylinder #5 decided to disintegrate... The pushrod (not bent) was sitting at the bottom of the lifter case. Not sure why this made the O2 read lean, but still need to do a full leak down before pulling the engine out...

Made an agreement with Trina that I could only do major work on one car at a time, so since the '57 just had it's engine redone, I will have to wait on this engine if it's something above/beyond a set of lifters and gaskets... Should have it pulled down in a few weeks. Just need a clear weekend day to pull it apart.
