Well yesterday technically...I lived vicariously through Todd. He's in Daytona right now, working as an official during the 24hrs, one of this country's greatest racing events. We were on the phone when he said he was approaching the exit for the Daytona speedway...what a cool thing 8)

Lemme guess ... he was asking for help.Originally Posted by Al Fernandez

Camaro, Mustang, doesn't matter to me, I'll race it.
On Saturday, I drove to Fresno and picked up a new hooptie:

A bit rough (front brakes are toast, front suspension is very tired, a bit ghetto'd inside, some minor damage to the DS), but the AC and heater work, it runs and drives well, and I've got a good title (not salvage, not stolen!). I couldn't argue with the price - free.

Too bad its an auto...but free? wtf?

Hard to believe, eh? It was his stepdaughter's car - they shipped it to CA from LA, she drove it until the LA regi expired. They tried to regi it in CA, but it wouldn't pass smog. They never spent any time to figure out why it wouldn't pass...they just bought her a new car. She moved back to LA, and left it here.but free? wtf?
He simply wanted it gone. I was happy to oblige.
Really hard to beat FREE-fitty.

I've been on the phone all day trying to get my car picked up. It seems that Hanford, CA is just too 'out of the way' for most carriers to make it a priority. I just upped the bid by $100 to see if it will go through now. I'm really fretting about getting something to drive at this event. I know that it is an HPDE/driver evaluation but it would be nice to get some seat time in the car that I will be driving in CMC.
BTW, notice the avatar... get used to this view
