I'm really blessed that he's still willing and able to continue that hobby at the age of 73. He still puts my car (and Michael's) as priority to fix any track damage.. I look forward to this project with not only my kids, but also my Dad.

Priceless experience! Yours may be the only kids of their generation to be able to adjust idle mixture and set points :-)

Who will still have a dwell meter to set the points with?

I still have one but I have no idea why.

That was one tool I never had the pleasure of learning. My '68 Camaro in high school had points when I bought it... but that was changed out pretty quickly. I remember watching Dad use it a lot when I was a kid though.

I used a dwell meter on a couple of occasions on my '66 in high school. Dad still has the meter somewhere.

I told you sons of bitches I was old.

Now think about this one. The dwell setting, when changed, will change your timing but a change in timing will never change the dwell.

Won several bets on that one. Even one shop owner I worked for could not understand the concept........it cost him a lunch.

I eyeballed the gap and carried spare points, got me and the Cuda through high school. After that the Plym Fish had to go if I wanted continued sponsorship.

The last time I worked on a carb, it was because someone hooked the return and supply hoses backwards. Took us 3 days to figure it out.

How you guys survived the 60s/70s is beyond me.
