Took another snowboarding trip this past weekend.

On the SW flight home from last night, we flew right past the airport then made a huge loop around Houston. Pilot gets on to explain that we're burning off fuel and that they are having problems with the spoiler flaps. Landed faster than usual using brakes and thrust, and got to sit on the end of the runway and wait while the fire dept watched the brakes cool off before taxiing back to the gate.

Got a nice apology note and voucher for the trouble.

You are lucky to be able to fly to Denver with Southwest. For years SW did not fly into Denver. Prices were as much or higher as they are now way back in the mid 80's.

All of my SW flights to Denver have been pretty cheap, usually no more than $250 roundtrip for reasonable times.

I went super cheap on this one since I was going by myself and wanted to save on cost; 6am flight out and 7pm flight back would've been $190 if I paid for it, booked with what was rouhgly $100 in credit card points. Getting the $100 sorry voucher back made this pretty much a free deal...
