I spun at 7:28. Fantastic heads-up driving by the two rookies (I'm terrible with names) for not hitting me.

Glad you posted this Jim. I was worried that I messed you up there. I remember pointing Smith/Lopilato by on my right coming out of big bend and saw you coming as well-headed up into rattlesnake looking to see where you were and didn't see you but saw some dust. Car looks great. My little girl asked me when I was going to make my car look like yours!

Paint wasn't terribly expensive, but took a lot of time. I put about $300-350 into the 4 colors of paint with hardener and reducers (from summitracing); $150 in quality masking tape, paper, plastic and mixing cups; $100 in vinyl mask material + $25 to have a sign shop cut it all.
The two of us did light body work for about a week's worth of evenings.
Justin got us into the Grapevine High School's paint booth. It was awesome. A little annoying that every hour a new class would come in, and we'd have to explain what we were doing, and all about our racing. I tried to recruit some of them.
One full day in painting white and blue, then 2 half days for red and black. Justin is a better painter than I, so I laid down the first coat or two, then he smoothed it out. Justin drives the flat black/green spec miata that I'm alway pitted by (he went to UTI for bodywork tech).
If any of you want your car painted, but don't have the skills, you might see if your local autotech class would have any interest in it. GHS' instructor told us that they don't get to do stuff like this, and was glad we came in and gave a demonstration. They normally just dent a hood, then repair it.
I'm also quite happy to give anybody a tutorial.

It was great racing with everyone again, looks like I have a lot of rust to knock off if I'm going to be competitive. It was also great meeting some of the guys that came over since I've been away, I had a blast hanging out with you guys! Hopefully I'll have the new engine all ironed out before TWS.
