    American Iron Prototype (AIP)

News release from NASA for the new NP class:

    https://www.nasaproracing.com/news/2...es_at_pri_show

I say we start dropping LS and Coyote motors into these things and create an AIP class...

O awesome!!! Dirt cheap for a prototype! 1/5 of what a DP car costs.

Great use for the plethora of 4.8 LS motors that can be had for $300 to $500 allnday long.

Oh I dunno so much about that. Sounds slightly on the heavy side of a Can Am car

Speaking of which, was the banquet invite just a disguise for a Can Am parts cleaning "party"?

Sounds like a fun car... still out of my price range though.

60,000 for a kit?! Lose the sequential box and tell me the foot well is large enough for three pedals. Go c5 vette trans axle and an lq4 aluminum 5.3l LS with 400 HP......and a price in the low $30k range..... Too many used race cars on the market to go drop $90k on a car you need a crew to help with on the weekends.....let alone have to have a special trailer to haul it.
    Ah, fugg it.

You won't need a special trailer, we hauled the IMSA lite car on a flat bed for a customer. Just use really long ramps. You will have to buy a special pull up jack since the car is low and a big socket for the wheels but I bet that's it. I wonder if they will come with air jacks built into the car?
