I am also very unhappy to see how early we get started for the season. We need to get back to the March season opener.

I agree-the entire field is going to be light. Only time after the event is filled with the holidays and likely going to be pretty cold which I hate. I haven't touched the car since ECR and bent something on my steering from the curb. I'm still planning to come with 24 excuses in the cooler and nothing for the cheatin 55. As of right now I could still get a top 10 bringing up the rear.

Doubt we'll get cold enough for it to freeze. Has to be below 32*F for a fairly extended period of time for it to freeze up.

I've got a block heater plug in my motor now, got it hooked up to a switched outlet that turns on if it actually sees 38*F, in the garage.

Good thing it is not this weekend. It's 41 right now 21 in the morning and we are not supposed to get back to 50 degrees until Monday. Saturday 30 low 32 high with chance of snow.

Might not be a race weekend, but mine will be on the trailer outside my house on Sunday so I can hit the dyno Monday morning... Might have to drag the old 100W incandescent light bulb out and put under the hood all night to keep things toasty warm..

Surprised this hasn't caught on, I just use a simple freeze plug block heater; fortunately the car hasn't been exposed to freezing temps down here in Houston just yet, but we're getting a low of 27 early tomorrow
