2015 Mustang Track Width (American Iron)

    http://nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=130569

Technical Bulletin - 2015 Mustang Track Width

    Effective 4/9/2015
    Expires upon 2016 rules release

The 2015 Mustang track width limits have been temporarily changed to 75.250" on the front and 76.250" on the rear.

Note: These limits are based around off the shelf after market wheels and 275 toyo RRs, ie FRPP 18x9.5 ET40, Enkie 18x9.5 ET38 and ET45. These limits may be reduced in the 2016 rules as to keep the track width to a minimum so we would not recommend high dollar custom wheels at the limit of track width rather off the shelf wheels with spacers as the spacers can be removed if needed. Fenders/lips must remain OEM unmodified ie no fender flares with this extra allowance. Rolling of any inner fender lip is permitted.

Interesting, has anyone sorted out a '15 AI car yet? It would be cool to allow a ecoboost in, they do ~350rwhp with a tune and bolt ons.

The eco boost would be a rocket with weight distribution. Might lack a lot on torque though. Plus the turbo might start to heat soak over a long race.

Never mind, my brain had not wrapped around the fact someone was already building a 2015 AI car....

Unless you have a monster motor it's going to be tough to beat a '15 mustang. I've driven a few at the driveway and they are night and day better in the turns. The stock track package car hooks as good or better than the laguna seca boss 302 in the turns.

15-20 years from now I can't wait until these cars become cheap/old/plentiful.

CMC in 2035: Mustangs run stock motors and ballast heavily. 5th gen camaros run no ballast and tons of engine mods to keep up.

Sounds like CMC-2 when it was first rolled-out, but with the cars flipped...

Right, takes a ton of work to make a fox competitive, 4th gen f-body is basically stock with springs and shocks.
